  • the trolley collides with the threshold (34) first the auxiliary wheel contacts the threshold; the trolley is then lifted over a distance of 6 mm. Subsequently, the floor-engaging wheel contacts the threshold, the trolley then being lifted 14 mm. Because the diameter of the floor-engaging wheel in this example is substantially larger than that of the auxiliary wheel, the impact on the floor- engaging wheel is less than could be expected on the basis of the difference in height.

The horizontal cross-section of this holder is then U-shaped.

Abstract

Un chariot de transport laissé sans surveillance (par exemple destiné à porter une station de travail pour un appareil mobile de radiographie) qui heurte un obstacle (34) sur le sol tel qu'un seuil aura tendance à se renverser. Afin d'accroître la résistance au renversement, les roues (18) du chariot en contact avec le sol sont dotées de roues auxiliaires (20) situées à une petite distance au-dessus du sol. En cas de collision avec un seuil (34), la roue auxiliaire (20) passe d'abord le seuil si bien que le chariot est soulevé de cette première distance. Ensuite, la roue (18) en contact avec le sol passe le seuil, le chariot étant soulevé de la distance restante. L'impact vertical de la collision est donc réparti entre deux impulsions, ce qui réduit la tendance au renversement.
