Abstract
The proposed hip joint prosthesis is intended for use in medicine and can be used in traumatology and orthopaedics as an artificial replacement for a hip joint. The invention in essence lies in the fact that in the proposed prosthesis, which comprises a shaped shaft made of an inert porous material and, in the upper shaft section, a conical neck to which is attached the femur head, the shaft has sizeable pores which extend through the shaft, the porosity and pore size increase from the distal extremity towards the proximal extremity and the pore spaces are filled with a preparation which stimulates re-growth. In addition, the porosity of the shaft varies between 1 and 70 % and the size of the pores varies between 5 and 200 νm; riffles are provided on the lateral surfaces of its proximal section, the dimensions of the ridges being 1.5 to 50 times greater than the particles of the shaft material. The shaft has an outer surface of a grainy structure and provided with an impermeable coating which is biologically compatible with bone tissue and easily removed in the organism.
