- the luciferase gene may be cloned behind a promoter that is activated by various substances, for example, heavy metals. Upon the addition of a sample containing activating toxic material, for example, heavy- metals, luciferase will be produced providing a detectable signal. L'invention concerne un dispositif autonome générateur de signaux et ses modes d'utilisation. Le dispositif et ses modes d'utilisation peuvent détecter la présence de matières biologiques ou toxiques, et peut faire appel, entre autres compositions, à une composition de luciférine/luciférase, à des milieux indicateurs de nutriment ou à des bactéries bioluminescentes pour émettre un signal indiquant la présence de matière biologique ou toxique.
