Definitions
- This invention relates to a fishing-lure comprising a shell which, at a front end, has a swivel for coupling the lure to a fishing-line and, at a rear end, has at least one hook, a cavity being included in the shell for accommodation of a con ⁇ sumable tablet having the purpose of emitting gas bubbles and/or scent agents in order to attract game fishes, and the shell being composed of two detachably connected parts of which a first one is in the form of a head body, which has a first wire at a rear end and through which a through bore for passing water to the cavity extends, while the other part consists of a tube, which, at a front end thereof, has a second wire for co- operation with the first wire and which, in the area of the rear end thereof, has at least one hole through which the gas or scent agents of the tablet may be emitted.
- Prior Art A fishing-lure of the kind referred to above is previ ⁇ ously known by FR 2 675 339.
- a disadvantage of this known fishing-lure is that the bores or holes are small for intake and emission respectively of the water flushing around the tablet, involving that only very limited amounts of water may flush through the cavity for the tablet. This hampers, to a great extent, the emission of the fish-attracting scent agents.
- Another disadvantage is that the swivel is integrated with the front head body (which may consist of plastic or aluminium) of the lure, evidently by being casted integrally with the shell. This does not meet with the conflicting requirements being made on a fishing-lure, viz .
- the lure should, on one hand, be able to play or rotate freely and smoothly in relation to the fishing-line at the same time as the lure, on the other hand, should be so robust that it can stand the stresses when also large game fishes bite the lure.
- a primary object of the invention is to create a fishing-lure which is robust and resistant, moves smoothly in the water as well as guarantees an effective emission of scent or gas agents by means of a loaded tablet in the interior of the lure. According to the invention, this object is attained by the fea- tures defined in the characterizing clause of claim 1.
- Fig 1 is a partly cut perspective view of a fishing-lure according to the invention
- Fig 2 is a partial exploded view illustrating the head body of the fishing-lure detached from the tube part
- Fig 3 is a side view of said head body together with a portion of the appurtenant swivel.
- reference numeral 1 generally designates a shell which, at a front end, has a swivel 2 and, at the rear end thereof, has at least one hook 3.
- the shell 1 is composed of two detachably connected parts 4, 5 of which the first one is in the form of a head body which, at a rear end portion, has an external wire 6.
- the other shell part 5 is tubular, whereby a substantially cylindric cavity 7 is delimited inside the part in question, in which cavity a tablet (not shown) may be accommodated.
- Said tube part has, at a front end thereof, an internal wire 8 in which the head body 4 may be fastened with screws with the external wire 6 thereof .
- a bore or hole 9 is recessed in the front head body 4 through which hole water may be let in.
- An analogue bore or hole 10 for emission of water which has passed through the cavity 7 is recessed in the rear end of the tube part 5.
- the head body 4 is, at a front end thereof, formed with a relatively powerful ring- or arc-shaped material portion 11 which delimits a transverse opening 12 through which water may freely pass from both sides to the inlet 9.
- Said inlet is, in turn, provided with a large diameter, e.g. within the range of 10 - 20% of the outer diame ⁇ ter of the head body, whereby a considerable amount of water may be let in through said inlet.
- a hole 13 extending axially is formed for accommodation of the swivel 2. Said axial hole is centrically placed, i.e.
- the proper swivel 2 is in the form of a wire of a stiff character and bent or deformed at the opposite ends thereof.
- the wire is made of copper or other metal.
- a sleeve ⁇ like fastening 16 for a spoon 17 detachably fastened on the fastening is rotatably mounted between a front line-loop 14 and a ball 15 firmly fixed on the swivel wire 2.
- the wire 2 is, at the rear end inserted through the hole 13 , bent or in another way deformed while forming an end portion 18 (e.g. hook-shaped) which serves as a stop.
- a partly spherical plate 19 is wired on between said stop and the ring portion 11, the spherical surface of which plate is turned forwards and abuts against the inside of the ring portion 11, more precisely against the cylindrical surface delimiting the circular opening 12.
- the hole 13, and thereby the swivel wire 2 is centrically placed and by the existence of the plate 19 serving as a bearing element, it is guaranteed in a reliable way that the shell 1 may rotate freely and smoothly in relation to the swivel wire. This, in turn, reduces to a minimum the risk of the fishing-line twining.
- the rear tube part 5 is made with a relatively strong ring- or arc-formed material portion 20 in connection with the outlet hole 10.
- Said ring portion 20 only serves as a fastening for the hook 3, more precisely through a conventional coupling ring 22.
- the ring portion 20 delimits a transverse opening 21 through which water from the outlet hole 10 may pass out to both sides.
- the head body 4 as well as the tube part 5 may be made of casted metal, such as copper or brass. More pre- cisely, the tube part 1 may be casted as a blank in which the cavity 7 as well as the outlet hole 10 are produced by drill ⁇ ing-out. Also the head body 4 may be casted in the form of a blank in which the two holes 9, 13 are produced by drilling.
