Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for producing a tray and to a tray, in particular a serving tray, with a layer provided on its surface according to the preambles of claims 1 and 12.
- the layer is applied to the surface of the tray body by a spraying, spraying or brushing process. It is also known to insert a film to form a layer in an injection mold and to inject it back with the tray body.
- the present invention is concerned with the task of coating trays or for coating with a layer so that the layer can be applied inexpensively and without errors to the tray body. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the method steps of claim 1 or by the features of claim 12.
- the coating is produced efficiently and cost-effectively and the inclusion of air and the occurrence of air bubbles between the tray body and the layer or layers is reliably avoided. Furthermore, through the selection of the number and size of the openings in tray and coating material and thus also in weight can be saved. In addition, the type of coating can be determined by the choice of the size of the openings.
- the tray body has a flat bottom
- FIG. 1 a shows a cross section through a plunge pool for coating the tray body
- FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the circular section B of FIG. 1,
- FIG. 5 shows a top section of a tray body according to FIG. 4 before coating
- FIG. 6 shows a plan view corresponding to FIG. 5 of a tray body, the bottom of which has a lattice structure.
- 1 denotes a tray, in particular a serving tray.
- This tray 1 can be rectangular, square, round, elliptical or in other shapes in plan view. It consists of a tray body 2, which has a bottom 3 and an upward-facing, for example arc-shaped, sectionally provided or all-round edge 4 and whose top 5.1 and / or bottom 5.2 is provided with a layer, in particular with an anti-slip layer 6.
- the edge height of the edge 4 should preferably not be higher than about 15 mm to 20 mm.
- the tray body 2 can be made of metal or plastic. In the production of metal, copper, brass, tin, iron, nickel or alloys of at least two of these metals are used in particular. Any plastic which ensures sufficient stability and, if appropriate, also the required temperature resistance of the tray 1 can be used in the production from plastic. In addition, the choice of material is made so that there is sufficient chemical resistance to commercially available detergents.
- plastics are acrylic-butadiene-styrene (ABS), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyamide (PA), polyimide (PI), polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PUR / TPE), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or Like. Or mixtures of these materials.
- the bottom 3 of the tray body 2 can have at least one, in particular if the edge height is greater than about 15 mm to 20 mm have through opening 7.
- the or at least one of these openings 7 is preferably provided centrally or in a central region of the base 3. If there are several openings 7, some are provided in the kink area 8, ie in the area where the edge 4 begins to rise.
- the lower edge 9 lies at the level of the floor level or higher than this.
- the entire upper side 5.1 of the tray body 2 is coated with the layer or anti-slip layer 6.
- parts of the tray body 2 can be left free of the layer or anti-slip layer 6. This can e.g. happen that 2 layers, e.g. Decorative layers 10 (FIG. 2), cover foils or the like are applied, on which the layer or anti-slip layer 6 does not adhere. Only a decorative layer 10, i.e. can be provided without using an anti-slip layer 6.
- the coating of the tray body 2 with the layer or anti-slip layer 6 is produced efficiently on the top 5.1 or on the bottom 5.2 by the fact that the tray body 2 is in the opposite position, i.e. with the top 5.1 or the bottom 5.2, as in Fig 1 shows, downwards, on a gel-like layer, for example an anti-slip layer 6 to be formed, which is floating on a suitable medium M, for example water.
- a gel-like layer for example an anti-slip layer 6 to be formed, which is floating on a suitable medium M, for example water.
- a suitable medium M for example water.
- the tray body 2 is immersed in the medium M in the reverse position, ie with the upper side 5.1 down.
- the floating layer or anti-slip layer 6 has a gel-like consistency and thus upward free valences. These bring about a firm connection with the upper side 5.1 of the tray body 2 pressed into the medium M.
- the floating layer or anti-slip layer 6 consists of a plastic which is brought into the gel-like state by a solvent.
- the plastic used for the anti-slip layer 6 is therefore plastic which can be dissolved or dissolved by a solvent or converted into a gel.
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- PE polyethylene
- thermoplastic or crosslinking elastomers based on the polyurethanes (PUR / TPE), polyester (TPE, TPU) or the rubbers (NBR, AC) can be used.
- the placement and pressing of the tray body 2 can be done so that the bottom plane of the bottom 3 parallel to Surface of the layer floating on the medium M or anti-slip layer 6 is guided. However, it may also be expedient to dip or press in the tablet body 2, ie its upper side 5.1 or lower side 5.2 inclined to the surface of the medium M. When the tray body 2 is subsequently lifted off from the medium M, the layer or anti-slip layer 6 adhering to the tray body 2 is also lifted off.
- a plurality of openings 7 are preferably provided or the bottom 3 can be provided with a perforation, for example a sieve-like or perforated plate-like design.
- a perforation for example a sieve-like or perforated plate-like design.
- Several or a plurality of openings 7 of different cross-sections can be provided.
- the layer or anti-slip layer 6 is kept connected so that the opening 7 is closed (see section A of FIG. 1 shown in FIG. 2) ).
- the layer or anti-slip layer 6 is torn off when it is lifted off and the opening 7 is not closed.
- the inner wall 7.1 of the opening 7 or openings 7 is also covered by the layer or anti-slip layer 6 and, as a rule, it even encompasses the other side of the base 3, cf.
- the good adhesion on the opposite side is achieved in that the medium M after tearing through the layer or anti-slip layer 6 passes through the opening 7 and the protruding remnants of the layer or anti-slip layer 6 presses against the opposite side by the weight of the medium M.
- the tray body 2 is coated on both sides, the smaller ones can Openings 7 can also be closed on both sides.
- the tray 1 can be provided with further superimposed layers 10 or 12, for example for decorative purposes, that is to say with writing and / or graphics, as indicated in FIG. 2.
- Such a layer 10 can be present on the top side 5.1 of the tray body 2 or on the bottom side 11 of the layer or anti-slip layer 6. It can also be provided, if necessary additionally, for example in the form of a layer 12 or a film, on the top 13 of the layer or anti-slip layer 6.
- the individual layers e.g. the anti-slip layer 6 and the layers 10 and 12 can, depending on the application, be made completely or partially transparent, translucent or opaque and also colorless, or in one or more colors and can also be designed as a decorative element or provided with a decorative element or elements.
- the opening 7 is so large that when it is lifted off, the layer tears through, lies around the edge 7.1 and engages behind the other side of the base 3, in the exemplary embodiment the underside 5.2.
- the floor can therefore be designed, for example, as a perforated plate.
- FIG. 4 An advantageous development of the invention is shown in FIG. 4.
- the bottom 3 is provided with depressions 14. This can be done in that the bottom 3 extends from the edge 4 to a point, for example to a central point 15, inclined slightly downwards and an opening 7 is provided at the lowest point 16.
- an opening 7 is provided at the lowest point 16.
- Kink region 8 between the bottom 3 and the inner edge wall 17 of the edge 4 depressions 14 in the form of, for example, ball indentations or a groove 18 running all around or in sections may be provided.
- An opening 7 is provided at the lowest point 16 thereof.
- the opening can also be in the form of an elongated hole 7.1. This can be seen from FIG. 5 in a top view of the non-coated tray body 2.
- the deepest points 16 are preferably arranged so that they run in a plane 19. This can be the support level of the tray 1 if the lower edge 9 runs the same height or higher than the level 19.
- a support level is preferably formed by three or four locations 16 that are as close to the edge as possible. Any other existing locations 16 of depressions 14 are then in a higher position than level 19.
- the lower edge 9 lies lower than the support plane 19 or the underside of a flat floor 3.
- the edge section 20 lying lower than the point (s) 16 is not coated with a layer, for example an anti-slip layer 6. This is achieved in that the tray body 2 is pressed or immersed in the medium M only up to or shortly over the point (s) 16.
- the edge section 20 can be provided as a grip tab on two or more sides of the tray body 2, in each case opposite one another, for example on four sides, in particular in the case of a square tray body 2, or it can be embodied all around.
- several large openings 7 are drawn in dashed lines, so that there is a kind of perforated plate as the bottom 3.
- the bottom 3 can be designed in the manner of a grid, as shown in FIG. 6, which results in considerable material and weight savings.
- the top side 5.1 and / or the bottom side 5.2 is preferably provided with an anti-slip layer 6. If several layers are applied one above the other, the uppermost layer is designed as an anti-slip layer.
