Definitions
- the present invention has a method and devices to the content in order to be able to assemble such objects more easily and in a material-saving manner than before and to ensure the purity up to the moment of use.
- pipette tips are offered stuck in carriers. They can be removed directly from this by inserting the pipette.
- an internationally standardized orthogonal grid is used, so that even multi-channel pipettes in one operation with z. B. 8 or 12 tips can be equipped.
- Sarstedt delivers such certified pipette tips in conventional racks with removable lids. The entire container must be opened to remove even a single tip.
- the company Eppendorf offers high-purity pipette tips not only in comparable boxes like Sarstedt, but also individually packed in pieces.
- the tip is packed in a longitudinally divided, two-part envelope.
- This consists of a transparent hollow shape simulating the contour of the object, which is closed by a paper-like cover layer, as is known, for example, from sterile-packed disposable syringes or cannulas.
- the removal takes place in that the objects are pressed laterally through the cover which tears in the process. This guarantees the purity of the pipette tips until use.
- the covers can be individual lids, which can, for example, be attached or glued on so that multi-channel pipettes can also be used, it is proposed to couple the lids so that several compartments, for example a row, open simultaneously
- the cover function could also be carried out in an excellent way by elements provided with sealing knobs on the underside (see Fig. 1).
- the cover only consists of one or more foils, which either self-adhesive or adhesive seal the objects on the top.
- a combination of more stable Covering with predetermined breaking / tearing points see Fig. 2) and a film lying over it is conceivable. It is particularly advantageous, however, if the cover is fixed to the container wall reaching or projecting above the top edge, e.g. by welding.
- a row-wise removal in the longitudinal or transverse direction may be necessary.
- it is proposed to perforate the covering film in such a way that it can be removed both in the longitudinal and transverse directions from any number of compartments or from complete rows see Fig. 4
- the container unit or the protective device could also be provided with a sliding cover to which the film is attached in such a way that it is automatically pulled off successively when it is opened and the number of pipette tips required is exposed (Fig. 5a, b)
- the covering film has a reinforced edge, which is threaded through slits, preferably near the edge, running in the longitudinal or transverse direction of the cover. Opening the cover then also leads to a simultaneous removal of the cover film without the annoying film interfering with the work (Fig. 6)
- a winding or unwinding mechanism can be configured in various ways, which of course can also be part of a separate support device, as described below
- a sliding lid that closes the grid-shaped arrangement of containers could also serve as a tear-off edge, along which such a film-like cover can be severed in rows. Perforation can thus be avoided (Fig 7)
- Fig. 8 shows a special arrangement of covers that can be removed in rows, which can be used both when working with 8 and 12-channel pipettes.
- the usual 8x12 grid is placed on a web 18 (A8 / B1) in an 8x8 field (A1-A8) and a 4x8 field (B1-B4) divided
- the compartments are closed in the AB direction with a peelable film on the webs A1-A8 formed by the container walls are perforated 17 or separated into strips.
- the film or Film strips are fixed to the web 18 and range from A8 to A1 or from B1 to B4. With protruding tabs 16, the film strips can be removed from the outside to the fastening skins to the web A8 / B1 from individual containers or a partial row.
- the rows can be processed in the A1 / A8 direction, the B1'-B4 field can either in the B1 / B4 direction in two steps (by turning the multichannel pipette), or in the B1-B1 'direction in one operation to be edited.
- the cover strip is removed from one side in the direction of A1-A8 and from the other side in the direction of B4-B1. This opens a complete row with 12 containers (A1-A8 plus B1-B4).
- a reinforced pull-off strip 19 on the web 18 A8 / B1 is advantageously running in the direction of B17B1.
- the cover film can be removed completely from all containers A1'-B4 in one movement if the adhesive force of the films on the pulling strip 18 is greater than their adhesive force on the container walls or that for separation along the perforation seam.
- the cover is designed such that it automatically opens or is destroyed when the pipette is inserted.
- the latter can be achieved e.g. by using a material that tears easily when the pipette is pressed on, a material prestress that can be achieved by thermal treatment can be advantageous.
- the tearing can be carried out in a controlled manner by means of appropriately arranged predetermined breaking lines, so that the removal of the pipette tip is not hindered (see Fig. 2,3).
- the cover can also be made of a stronger material if necessary, and again predetermined breaking points can serve to cause the cover surface of a container, which is divided into several segments, to kink or break off when a pipette is inserted so that it does not remove the pipette tip hinder.
- an additional cover could be provided, for example in the form of a removable protective film.
- a profiled shape of the cover is also possible in connection with predetermined breaking points.
- the illustration shows a closed container in the left half, the situation after inserting the pipette on the right.
- any number of such containers as indicated in Fig. 4 can be combined in any arrangement.
- an arrangement in rows of 8 or 12 elements and in an 8x12 grid is particularly useful in order to use multi-channel pipettes To be able to work In such a case, it makes sense to couple the covers so that a whole row or even the entire arrangement of containers can be opened with one hand.
- a film-like cover can also be used. which protects against contamination from sticking to the objects
- the filled containers are filled by the manufacturer under clean room conditions and the contents are sterilized by irradiation or gassing.
- the containers therefore do not have to be autoclavable and can be made from inexpensive material.
- a further reduction in the use of materials can be achieved by the compartments are so thin-walled that they only serve to protect the pipette tips during transport and storage.
- the individual or combined containers are inserted by the user into a separate support device that can be used multiple times and by intervening support elements in the spaces 4 ensures the pressure load capacity required for removing the pipette tips with a pipette.
- a support device consists of a frame with transverse and / or longitudinal bars that exactly match the intermediate clear 4 align the container unit is simply inserted into the device from above
