Abstract

A shampoo composition comprising: (a) from about 0.1 % to about 10 % by weight of short chain alkyl sulfate surfactant having a carbon chain length of 10 carbon atoms or less; (b) from about 0.1 % to about 10 % by weight of ethoxylated alcohol; and (c) from about 1 % to about 60 % by weight of auxiliary surfactant selected from anionic surfactant other than the short chain alkyl sulfate of (a), nonionic surfactant other than the ethoxylated alcohol of (b), amphoteric and cationic surfactants and mixtures thereof; (d) water. The shampoo compositions of the invention are valuable for the provision of improved rinsibility, excellent cleansing, and improved hair conditioning characteristics such as hair feel, hair shine, hair volume and manageability.
