Abstract

Cette invention concerne un cristallin artificiel (1) pour les yeux, lequel se compose d'une ou de plusieurs lentilles (2) dont une au moins est faite d'un matériau photochromique. Ce matériau photochromique permet d'obtenir une atténuation sélective de différents spectres du rayonnement lumineux, et se caractérise en outre par un jaunissement lent et irréversible similaire à celui du cristallin naturel chez une personne. Le verre photochromique décrit dans la présente invention comprend les éléments suivants en % en poids: de 58 à 62 % de SiO2; de 18 à 20 % de B2O3; de 8 à 12 % d'Al2O3; de 8 à 12 % de Na2O; de 0,1 à 0,35 % de CuCl2; et de 0,01 à 0,6 % d'AgCl. Le CuCl2 et l'AgCl forment des microcristaux dont la taille varie entre 100 et 150 Å.
