Abstract

The invention relates to a safety casing for telephone wiring, characterised in that it consists of: a) a box-shaped part (1) provided with a securing plate (2) and four upright walls (4, 5), at least one of which is provided with hinges (6) for a cover (18) which closes over said walls (4, 5) and b) an assembly plate (9) hingedly mounted in this box-shaped part (1), wherein elongated holes (13) are provided for receiving wiring modules (14); c) and finally locking means (15, 16) through which said assembly plate (9) can be blocked.

Description

Safety casing for telephone wiring.
This invention relates to a safety casing for telephone wiring.
It is the aim of the invention to provide a safety casing wherein the connections between one or more main cables and a number of internal lines can be brought about in a simple way, and also be removed or altered and in addition to this remain inaccessible to third parties or non-authorized persons.
To achieve this according to the invention, the safety casing consists of a) a box-shaped part provided with a securing plate and four upright walls, at least one of which is provided with hinges for a cover which closes over said walls and b) an assembly plate hingedly mounted in this box- shaped part, wherein elongated holes are provided for receiving wiring modules; c) and finally locking means through which said assembly plate can be blocked.
Still according to the invention, said assembly plate is hingedly connected to an L-shaped prophile which is removably fixed to said securing plate.
According to a very particular characteristic of the invention, said means for locking said assembly plate are exchangeable with respect to said walls of the box shaped part.
Other details and pecularities of the invention will become clear from the following description of a safety casing according to the invention. This description is only given as an example, and in not meant to limit the invention. The reference numbers refer to the attached figures.
Figure 1 shows, in perspective, the safety casing according to the invention.
Figure 2 shows the same safety casing wherein parts are taken apart.
Figure 3 is a cross-section of the safety casing according to the invention, wherein the cover is shown in two positions.
The safety casing shown in these figures consists of a box-shaped part 1, composed of a securing plate 2 which can be attached to a wall or a partition by means of screws. Thereto, in the securing plate 2, a number of holes 3 are provided.
The box-shaped part 1 shows further four upright walls. In the here described example, two walls are longitudinal walls 4 and two walls should be considered as transversal walls. Of course, the safety casing could also have a square shape.
On each of the longitudinal walls 4, hinges 6 are provided, around which the cover of the safety casing can rotate.
In each of the transversal walls 5, at least one, but preferably two holes 7 are left open. These holes are rounded of at the bottom and can be shut off by means of closing caps 8. The closing caps 8 show concentric removable discs which constitute a pass-way for cables with different diameters. These passways are provided for the passing of the main cables.
The safety casing according to the invention is in essence characterised by the presence of an assembly plate 9 which is hingedly mounted with respect to an L-shaped prophile 10, which can be screwed onto the securing plate 2. Holes 11 in this plate and holes ll1 in the L-shaped prophile allow this securing by means of screws.
The assembly plate 9 with a hinge connection 12 with respect to the prophile 10 shows a series of elongated holes 13 for receiving the modules 14. Only one of these modules 14 has been shown in these figures. Each module shows an on itself known clicking connection for the securing thereof in a hole 13 of the assembly plate 9. The modules show on both sides a series of provisions for connections for the main cable as well as for the internal lines of the subscriber. In figure 1, the latter are shown schematically. The assembly plate 9 is locked with respect to a wall 4 of the box-shaped part 1, by means of a locking mechanism 15 - 16. The spare part 16 thereof can, as desired, appear at the one or the other wall 4, depending on whether one wants to rotate the assembly plate in de one direction or the other. Also, the handle 17 for locking the cover 18, shown in figure 3, is exchangeable and allows thus, due to the presence of hinges 6 on both walls 4, to rotate the cover 18 in one direction or the other. In figure 3, the cover is shown in two positions, and also the locking mechanism 19 is visible.
Along the wing 10" of the prophile 10, which wing 10* is to be considered as the vertical wing in the use position, protrusions 20 are provided, which extend along the one side as well as along the other side of the wing 10' of the prophile 10. These are provided for attaching the main cable to the vertical wing of the prophile 10.
The safety casing of which the essential elements have been described above, allows, thanks to its structure, a large flexibility with respect to the connections to be provided.
The connections to one or more main cables are protected against fraudulent manipulations in an excellent way. An exceptional large number of connections can be realised in a relative small space in technically excellent conditions.
It should be clear that the here, by way of an example, described elements of the safety casing according to the invention, can be understood as being modular, so that one and the same casing could contain more than one assembly plate with modules to be mounted thereon.
