Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte au domaine de la médecine, et concerne notamment des procédés et des dispositifs de thérapie par rayonnements qui permettent de traiter des tumeurs malignes à l'aide d'un faisceau horizontal de particules lourdes et chargées, telles que des protons. A cette fin, on illumine les tumeurs qui se situent dans n'importe quelle partie du corps du patient, ceci en faisant faire au patient un mouvement de rotation lorsque son corps se trouve en position debout ou allongée, ainsi que dans toute autre position de la 'longueur' du corps par rapport à une ligne horizontale qui est perpendiculaire à l'axe du faisceau de protons. Le processus complexe de préparation est optimisé, puis le patient est soumis au rayonnement. D'après cette invention, le patient est placé au cours d'une procédure préparatoire dans un système de fixation (11) qui est modelé à la forme de son corps, lequel système (11) est monté sur un support et se déplace sur un chariot (12) le long d'un pontet jusqu'à la zone d'irradiation (25).
