Otherwise, the call can be set up according to conventional procedures (i.e., interrogating the HLR for location information).

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de réduction des communications avec un registre de localisation nominal HLR (204) et de signalisation de et vers ce registre pour les appels locaux ou provenant du centre de commutation de services mobiles MSC (118). Dans le cas d'un registre abonné (114) et du registre de localisation nominal (204), le profil complet de cet abonné est transféré (116) au registre de localisation occasionnel VLR (207) associé au MSC (206) (ou MSC/WOS) impliqué. Lorsqu'un appel (118) destiné à l'abonné émane du MSC (206), le registre de localisation occasionnel (207) associé au MSC (206) est vérifié (102) en vue de déterminer si les informations de localisation de l'abonné sont déjà conservées dans le VLR (207). Si c'est le cas, le MSC (206) peut rechercher (122) et acheminer l'appel jusqu'au téléphone mobile de l'abonné via (222) l'émetteur de station de base (210, 212, 214) associé au VLR (207). Ainsi, pour de tels appels émanant du MSC local (118), il est superflu d'interroger le HLR (204) pour les informations abonné, ce qui permet de réduire la signalisation de et vers le HLR (204).
