Abstract

The invention concerns a restraint for retaining in their bed. patients needing protection from: 1) falling off, while keeping their mobility, 2) problems related to their personal hygiene. The invention aims to simultaneously solve two major problems encountered by nursing staff in dealing with certain types of patients: maintaining their hygiene, and preventing falls.

Nothing really exists in this area, except a - metal barrier system adaptable to the bed.

These do not deal with the problem of hygiene and sometimes prove dangerous, because the bedridden person is often unconscious or agitated, and can therefore get bogged down or banged on bars.

This invention is therefore intended to keep bedridden or sick people in their bed, and in good conditions, with no more notions of hygiene and danger. It can also, and in some cases be adapted to children. - This device is composed, according to a first characteristic, of a sheet, fixed to the patient's waist by a belt, and of a strap which fixes the whole to the bed.

Optimal hygiene is thus achieved, because between the plane of the bed where it is placed and the belt in place, it is impossible for him to slip his hands under the sheet, (the strap becoming integral with the plane of the bed from his cut).
