- the present invention relates to an automatic injector, of the type comprising a body, a syringe reservoir provided with an injection needle and mounted movable in the body of the injector, between a retracted position in the body, in which the needle is housed inside the body, and an injection position, in which the needle protrudes outside the body, a movable injection piston in the syringe tank, first elastic means initially compressed, suitable for the biasing of the piston in order to cause the needle to exit the body of the injector and the injection of the fluid contained in the reservoir, and second elastic means, adapted for returning the reservoir to its retracted position, the injector comprising furthermore means for triggering the first elastic means and means for automatically triggering the second elastic means at the end of injection.
- the automatic injector described in this document comprises two opposing springs, one of which is adapted for the output of the needle and the injection, and the other is adapted for the return of the reservoir carrying the needle in the body of the injector at the end of injection.

- the piston comprises a tubular piston rod and the first elastic means are arranged in the central cylindrical space delimited by the tubular piston rod and bear on the one hand on the body and on the other hand on the piston;
- the triggering means of the first elastic means comprise, carried by the body and the piston, means for securing the body and the piston and the body comprises means for releasing the securing means;
- the body comprises a handle and a trigger mounted to slide axially one inside the other, the trigger comprising a cam surface for releasing the securing means;
- the second elastic means comprise an auxiliary spring adapted to act between the reservoir and the body of the injector;
- the auxiliary spring is initially relaxed and has a lower force than that of the injection spring, so that the second spring is compressible under the action of the first elastic means during movement of the reservoir for the exit of the needle; and - the piston comprises on the one hand a plug sliding in a sealed manner inside the tank and on the other hand a piston rod independent of the plug and engaged at least partially in the tank, the first elastic means being applied to the piston rod.

- the trigger 34 is first introduced inside the sleeve 42 of the locking button.
- the return spring 23 is then placed in the trigger 34 and the reservoir filled with liquid is finally threaded into the trigger along the axis of the spring 23.

- the sleeve 42 of the locking button is secured to the handle 32 by force fitting or gluing.
- the operator first removes the protective cap 30.

- the use of a return spring acting on the piston makes it possible to have an automatic injector of great reliability, since the force applied to the flange during the return of the tank is relatively low, the force necessary to overcome the action of the injection spring being produced by the return spring of the piston rod which does not act on the reservoir.
- the reservoir return spring 23 can be omitted.
- the piston rod 18 is secured, for example by screwing, to the buffer 17. Also, when the piston rod 18 is returned under the action of the return spring 22 of the piston rod, the buffer 17 and the reservoir 12 are also driven. In fact, the small diameter of the injection needle 14 does not allow the syringe to be filled when the one-piece piston 16 is returned by the return spring 22. Thus, the return spring 22 drives both the piston 16 and the reservoir 12, which allows the needle to be retracted.
- the assembly of the injector is facilitated by the fact that, during assembly, the return spring is carried by the piston and forms with the piston rod a unitary assembly which can be easily introduced into the body of the injector.
