Abstract

A set of metal sections for the construction of continuous faces for buildings comprises a metal section (1; 31) forming an upright or a crosspiece; the metal section (1; 31) has a tubular body (2; 32) with substantially polygonal cross section and a front wall (3; 33) provided with a lengthwise projecting element (4; 34); and the lengthwise projecting element (4; 34) has a lengthwise groove (7) and at least one outer wall (5; 5a; 35; 35a) capable of supporting coupling elements (100; 101; 102; 103) and elements of a cell (66; 68).

1. Set of metal sections for the construction of continuous faces for buildings having a supporting structure of uprights and crosspieces for cells, the said set comprising a metal section (1 ; 31) forming at least one of the said uprights and crosspieces, the said metal section (1 ; 31) having a tubular body (2; 32) with a front wall (3; 33) provided with a lengthwise projecting element (4; 34), the set being characterized in that the said lengthwise projecting element (4; 34) has a lengthwise groove (7) and at least one outer wall (5; 5a; 35; 35a) capable of supporting coupling elements (100; 101 ; 102; 103) and elements of a cell (66; 68), the said outer wall (5; 5a) is shaped and has a stepped profile that forms a retaining recess (6; 6a) and a supporting face (10; 10a) for the said coupling elements (100; 101 ; 102; 103) and elements of a cell (66; 68), the said lengthwise groove (7) has knurled walls (8) and teeth in which threaded connection means (9) or sealing gaskets (49) are firmly engaged.
2. Set of sections according to claim 1 , characterized in that the said projecting element (4) is formed by a lengthwise rib having a hollow inner portion.
3. Set of sections according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the said tubular body (2) has a polygonal cross-section with a front wall (3) provided with fins (11) that project forwards and, in turn, are provided with C-shaped seats (25) for housing sealing gaskets.
4. Set of sections according to claim 3, characterized in that between the said front wall (3), the said rib (4) and a fin (11) there is comprised a chamber (29) for collecting water resulting from condensation and infiltration to be drained to the exterior through weep holes.
5. SeLof sections according to claim 1 , characterized in that the said tubular body (32) has a polygonal cross-section with a front wall 15
(33) provided with C-shaped seats (21 ) capable of housing sealing gaskets.
6. Set of sections according to claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the said metal section (1) is an upright.
7. Set of sections according to claims 1 , 2 and 5, characterized in that the said metal section (31) is a crosspiece.

Set of sections according to claims 1 to 7, characterized in that a pressure element (18) is fastened to the said section (1 ; 31) by means of at least one bolt (9) which screws into the said knurled walls (8) of the said lengthwise groove (7) of the said rib (4; 34) and a cover (13) snaps onto the said pressure element (18).
9. Set of sections according to claim 8, characterized in that a plastics spacer (20) is mounted on the said bolts (9) and is interposed between the said rib (4; 34) and the said pressure element (18).
10. Set of sections according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the said retaining recess (6; 6a) and the said supporting face (10; 10a) of the said rib (4) are capable of supporting a first coupling element (103) of a window frame provided with an L-shaped plate.
11. Set of sections according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the said supporting face (10a) of the said rib (4) is capable of supporting a substantially C-shaped metal connecting section (66).
12. Set of sections according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the said outer wall (35a) of the said rib (34) is capable of supporting a second coupling element (101) of a window frame.
13. Set of sections according to claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the said outer wall (35a) of the said rib (34) is capable of supporting an abutting edge (68) of a window.
14. Set of sections according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a third section (41 ) capable of forming a frame (40) for a window of the said face, the said third section (41 ) being formed by -16-
two offset metal tubular casings, an inner (42) and an outer (43), connected by a metal plate (44).
15. Set of sections according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a fourth section (46) for forming a frame (45) for a window of the said face, the said fourth section (46) being formed by two offset metal tubular casings, an inner (47) and an outer (48).

Set of sections according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a thermally insulating fifth section (72) for forming a frame (71) for a window of the said face, the said fifth section (72) being formed by an inner metal tubular casing (73) and of an outer metal strip (74), these being offset and joined by insulating bars (75).

Set of sections according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a thermally insulating sixth section (81) for forming a frame (80) for a window of the said face, the said sixth section (81) being formed by two metal tubular casings, an inner (82) and an outer (83), these being offset and joined by insulating bars (75).

Set of sections according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a seventh section (86) for forming a frame (85) for a window of the said face, the said seventh section (86) being formed by two metal tubular casings, an inner (87) and an outer (88), these being offset, the said outer tubular casing (88) being provided with a bent fin (89).

Set of sections according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises an eighth section (91 ) for forming a frame (90) for a window of the said face, the said eighth section (91) being formed by two metal tubular casings, an inner (92) and an outer (93), these being offset and joined by insulating bars (75), the said outer tubular casing (93) being provided with a bent fin (94). - -

Set of sections according to claims 1 , 2 and 15-19, characterized in that the said sealing gasket (49) is inserted into the said groove (7) and is firmly engaged by the said teeth so as to come between the said rib (4; 34) and pairs of the said fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth sections (46, 72, 81 , 86, 91).
21. Set of sections according to claim 10, characterized in that the said first coupling element (103) is provided with a guide slot (111) designed to engage with a projection (109) on a third coupling element (102) fastened to a window frame.
22. Set of sections according to claim 12, characterized in that the said second coupling element (101 ) is provided with a guide slot (107) designed to engage with a projection (105) on a fourth coupling element (100) fastened to a window frame.

Set of metal sections for the construction of continuous faces for buildings having a supporting structure of uprights and crosspieces for cells, the said set comprising a metal section (1 ; 31) forming at least one of the said uprights and crosspieces, the said metal section (1 ; 31) having a tubular body (2; 32) with a front wall (3; 33) provided with a lengthwise projecting element (4; 34) having a lengthwise groove (7) and at least one outer wall (5; 5a; 35; 35a) capable of supporting coupling elements and elements of a cell (66; 68), characterized in that first coupling elements (103) are fastened to uprights (1), second coupling elements (101 ) are fastened to a lower crosspiece (31), fourth coupling elements (100) are fastened to a lower external side of a cell, and third coupling elements (102) are slidably associated with said cell for being slidably movable from a first position where said third coupling elements (102) are disengaged from said first coupling elements (103) to a second position where projections (109) of said third coupling elements (102) engage guide slots (111) of said first coupling elements (103). -18-
