Definitions
- the invention relates to a closure cap of a container for liquids for disinfecting and / or removing incrustations in medical devices.
- Containers with the closure cap according to the invention are provided in particular for devices for hemodialysis.
- Devices of this type are used to remove metabolic products from human blood via a membrane module, which is also called a hemodialyzer or "artificial kidney”. All functions and processes of hemodialysis are monitored with suitable monitors (warning systems).
- the fluid circuits of such hemodialysis monitors must be disinfected regularly and incrustations removed from case to case.
- the closure of the container is opened in the prior art and the liquid therein is sucked in via a line and conveyed to the hemodialysis monitor.
- the disinfection liquids and / or liquids used to remove incrustations have an intense and pungent smell, which is perceived as extremely unpleasant.
- the cap of conventional containers is opened and the liquid is conveyed to the hemodialysis monitor, the operator is therefore exposed to very unpleasant and also harmful vapors. It is also possible that the operator's hand and other skin areas come into contact with the usually caustic liquid after opening the container, which is not only uncomfortable but also harmful to health.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of developing a closure cap of the type mentioned at the beginning, which removes the liquid allowed, without significant amounts of liquid vapors escaping, and skin contact with the liquid is practically impossible.
- the closure cap should also be able to be used without any problems in combination with the hemodialysis monitors known per se and commercially available.
- the closure cap has a vent valve and a closable removal opening suitable for connecting a line.
- the closure cap does not have to be removed from the container during the transport of the liquid to the hemodialysis monitor.
- the pressure equalization required during suction is brought about by the vent valve. Even after the liquid has been drawn off, no vapors can escape because the opening can be closed.
- the line is connected to the removal opening and has a line connector at its outlet end.
- the closure cap has a, in particular cup-shaped, holder for the connector covering the outlet of the connector.
- the line connector is used for easy connection to a corresponding line on the hemodialysis monitor. If no liquid is to be removed from the container, the line connector can be inserted into the holder so that no harmful vapors can escape to the outside.
- the bottom of the pot-shaped holder is connected to the interior of the container by means of a continuous channel. Any remaining liquid can flow out of the line back into the container if the line connector is inserted into the holder.
- the removal opening is designed as a, in particular cup-shaped, holder for connecting the line.
- the closure cap has a closed cap for closing the holder.
- a suction tube is provided on the inside of the closure cap, which is connected at one end to the removal opening. In this way, during the withdrawal of the liquid, the suction tube is connected to the line between the container and the hemodialysis monitor.
- FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a closure cap according to a first exemplary embodiment according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the closure cap from FIG. 1,
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section through a closure cap according to a second exemplary embodiment according to the invention
- FIG. 4 shows a top view of the closure cap shown in FIG. 3
- Figure 5 is a view of the container with the cap according to the
- Figure 6 is a view of a container with the cap according to the
- Containers with the closure cap according to the invention can be used wherever disinfection or other liquids are conveyed to medical devices which need such treatment regularly or from time to time.
- the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 5 can be used for a first type of hemodialysis monitor.
- the cap 1 is screwed with its internal thread onto a container 7 which contains the disinfectant liquid.
- the vent valve of the closure cap 1 is not shown.
- a connector 6 is inserted, which is connected at its one, outward end with a hose 5, which in turn leads to the hemodialysis monitor and is connected to the hemodialysis monitor via a further connector, not shown .
- a suction pipe is attached, which extends to the bottom of the container 7.
- a pot-shaped holder 4 which has an axial channel 16 on its bottom.
- the channel 16 can be closed to completely prevent the escape of liquid vapors.
- a continuous, open channel 16 is advantageous.
- the connector 5, which is attached to the hose 5 and is not shown in the drawings, can be inserted into the cup-shaped holder 4 when the removal process of the liquid from the container 7 has ended. Residual liquid can then flow back out of the hose through the channel 16 into the container 7.
- the hose 5 is connected to the monitor with its connector (not shown in the drawings) and the liquid is transported from the container 7 to the monitor by suction. After completion of the disinfection, the connector attached to the end of the hose 5 is inserted into the pot-shaped holder 4 in order to completely close the closure cap 1.
- FIGS. 3, 4 and 6 For use with a second type of hemodialysis monitor, a further closure cap 2 according to the invention is provided, which is shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 6. Again, for the sake of clarity, the vent valve attached to the closure cap 2 is not shown.
- a cup-shaped holder 3 is inserted into an opening of the closure cap and has at its lower end a hose connector for connecting a suction pipe reaching to the bottom of the container 7.
- the hose not shown in the figures, is inserted into the holder 3 in order to suck the liquid out of the container 7 and to transport it to the monitor.
- the hose carries a connector known per se, which can be inserted sealingly in the holder 3. This connector is part of the equipment of the hemodialysis monitor.
- a closed cap 8 is provided for fitting onto the holder 3, the cap 8 being fastened to the closure cap 2 via a plastic band 9.
- the hose belonging to the monitor is inserted with its end connector into the holder 3 for the gas-tight connection. From the container 7, the liquid is sucked in via the suction pipe, the holder 3 and the hose and fed into the liquid circuit of the monitor. After completing this process, the hose is removed from the holder 3 and the holder 3 is closed with the cap 8.
- the closure cap according to the invention prevents liquid vapors from escaping to the outside both when the liquid is sucked in and before and after, that is to say when the container is separated from the monitor. Contact of the liquid with the skin of the user is reliably avoided here, as in the first example.
