Abstract

Cette invention a trait à un système et au procédé correspondant permettant de traiter des chaînes d'éléments à faire passer par une machine virtuelle, consistant à recevoir l'élément mis en chaîne dans un flux d'entrée, à traiter cet élément mis en chaîne, à le mémoriser dans un tampon et à signifier à la machine virtuelle que l'élément mis en chaîne est disponible. Parmi ces éléments mis en chaîne figurent, sans limitation, des classes d'entités, des dossiers d'archives et des ressources. Le traitement d'une classe peut comporter l'instrumentation de la classe par une fonctionnalité renforcée. Une technique d'instrumentation consiste à remplacer une référence de classe ou une autre constante dans un paquet de constantes de la classe reçue par une autre référence ou une autre constante en conformité avec un réseau de correspondances. Le traitement d'une ressource peut consister à convertir la ressource reçue dans un autre format ou à analyser cette ressource relativement à une caractéristique particulière. La notification de la disponibilité de cette ressource peut s'effectuer en réponse à une demande émanant de la machine virtuelle, demandant si la classe demandée est disponible dans l'antémémoire ou le tampon. Si, par contre, la ressource mise en chaîne n'est pas encore mémorisée dans l'antémémoire ou le tampon, la machine virtuelle peut être ultérieurement avisée au moment de sa réception. L'exécution d'un programme en langage Java peut se faire avant que tous les éléments mis en chaîne demandés ne soient reçus par un programme d'amorçage. Une file d'attente de demandes en suspens est conservée de manière à garder une trace de demandes non satisfaites de la machine virtuelle.
