Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte à un appareillage d'extrusion et à un procédé correspondant, cet appareillage comprenant deux extrudeuses (11, 15) reliées entre elles. La première extrudeuse (11) est constituée de préférence par une extrudeuse à vis jumelles à contre-rotation. La première extrudeuse (11) reçoit une charge organique, de préférence des particules ou des fibres de bois, ayant une teneur en humidité variable. L'humidité est extraite du corps de l'extrudeuse. Un polymère est introduit en provenance d'une seconde extrudeuse (15) dans le corps de la première extrudeuse (11), puis ce polymère est chauffé, mélangé et fondu dans la seconde extrudeuse (15). La seconde extrudeuse (15) peut être constituée par une extrudeuse à vis simple ou à vis jumelles. Le mélange combiné de charge organique et de polymère est ensuite mélangé seul ou avec des additifs optionnels. Le mélange est éventé par le vide, pour que l'humidité et les particules volatiles en soient retirées, et ledit mélange est ensuite extrudé à travers une matrice. Des étapes de traitement supplémentaires sont optionnelles, en fonction du produit extrudé ou du profil d'extrusion à produire.
