  • the attachment would be constructed from a metallic material, such as steel.
  • the version of the attachment shown in Figures 1 and 2 is particularly advantageous in that the attachment can be quickly and easily removed, with the attachment being held in place by means of a friction fit. It is, however, envisaged that for certain hammers the attachment would need to be fastened or secured to the head of the hammer. Various securing arrangements for clamping the attachment onto the head are shown in Figures 3 to 5.
  • the attachment could be constructed from a relatively flexible, resilient material, such as rubber, or even plastics, although to a lesser extent.
  • the attachment would be relatively flexible at its mouth 19, so that the attachment can be secured or fastened to the head by a conventional hose clamp 28.

  • the buffer element will typically be constructed from a high impact resistant material, such as carbon steel, and so this version of the invention will be ideally suitable for use with larger size hammers.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un accessoire(10) pour un marteau ordinaire (12) qui comprend une tête (14) emmanchée à l'extrémité d'un manche (16). L'accessoire (10) comprend une gaine de fixation (18) destinée à fixer l'accessoire (10) sur la tête (14) du marteau (12) ainsi qu'un élément de frappe avant (20). La gaine (18) délimite un renfoncement (22) qui permet d'emmancher l'accessoire (10) de façon sécurisée et serrée sur la tête (14). L'élément de frappe (20) délimite une face de frappe externe (24) et une face de contact interne (26) contre laquelle bute la face de la tête (14) du marteau pendant l'utilisation.
