Abstract

A system capable of controlling a number of apparatus, the system comprising a command station (2) capable of broadcasting a signal to one or more base stations (26, 28; 200-210). Each base station (26, 28; 200, 202) is arranged to control one or more apparatus (30-40, 212-226) in receipt of a predetermined command from the command station. The apparatus (30-40, 212-226) may be street lighting.
