Abstract

L'invention concerne un système, un procédé, et un programme permettant d'attribuer la mémoire physique d'un groupe de N unités mémoire à des volumes logiques. Un groupe de N unités mémoire est divisé en une pluralité de bandes, chaque unité de ce groupe de N unités mémoire partageant une portion de chacune des bandes de la pluralité. Une topologie des groupements est généré pour chacune des bandes de la pluralité. Cette topologie des groupements indique l'adresse physique de chaque groupement d'une pluralité de groupements. Chaque groupement de la pluralité est réparti de manière égale sur au moins deux des N unités mémoire afin d'assurer un niveau de redondance prédéterminé dans chacune des bandes. Chacune des N unités mémoire partagent un nombre approximativement équivalent de groupements. Les bandes disponibles sont déterminées et attribuées à un volume logique.
