However, in the "on" condition, the vessel appears to be substantially see - through from a position outside the vessel, because the power of the light source which illuminates the inside of the vessel is strong enough for the inside of the kettle to be viewed through the partially reflective vessel wall, even in daylight, where the day light reflects from the vessel wall back to the viewer.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil de cuisine (200) comprenant un plateau de dégivrage (201). Une source lumineuse (209) est disposée pratiquement au niveau du plateau de dégivrage (201). Une paroi du plateau de dégivrage comprend un miroir semi-réfléchissant. Lorsque la source lumineuse (209) n'émet pas de lumière, la paroi réfléchit pratiquement la lumière ambiante, conférant à la paroi une apparence réfléchissante, non transparente. Lorsque la source lumineuse (209) émet de la lumière, la paroi transmet pratiquement la lumière en provenance de la source lumineuse, rendant la paroi pratiquement transparente de manière efficace et permettant à un utilisateur de voir à l'intérieur du plateau de dégivrage (201).
