Abstract

The present invention is a system and a method for authenticating incoming emails and eliminating spam and other harmful messages. Embodiments of the present invention include solutions for ensuring that the incoming email was sent from a person and not through an automated email dispatcher. According to some embodiments of the present invention the proposed system makes use of peer-to-peer (P2P) technology. According to additional embodiments the system makes use of client/server technology to authenticate an incoming email. The system includes a challenge-response mechanism for validating that the received email was sent from an actual person before presenting the email to the recipient. Thus, users of the system are ensured that all undesired junk emails are filtered out by the system and that they receive all the valid messages sent to them.
