Abstract

　現地の光ファイバを組み付ける際に、フェルールに内蔵された短尺光ファイバの端面に欠け等の問題が発生せず、安全かつ容易に組み付けを遂行することができる光コネクタ及びその組立方法を得る。 　短尺光ファイバ１２を内蔵したフェルール３と、前記短尺光ファイバ１２と接続する光ファイバ１４を所定位置に位置決め固定する位置決め機構５とを有した光コネクタにおいて、前記短尺光ファイバ１２の端面と前記光ファイバ１４の端面とを、所定の屈折率で光を透過する略シート状の保護状部材１７を介して突き合せると共に、前記光ファイバ１４は前記短尺光ファイバ１２側に弾性力を付与して位置決めする。
