Abstract

Bottle cap with lateral opening enables drinking a bottle or other container content without tilting it and, thereby, without distraction in simultaneous performing of other activities. The lateral opening is made in the cap wall in the same way for bottles and other containers of all shapes. The bottle cap with lateral opening (A) is screwed onto the bottle neck, and comprises body (1), closure (2) and lateral opening (B). The closure can be made threaded and unthreaded, and enables drinking of the bottle content in the common way, by tilting the bottle. The lateral opening comprises: tube (4), ring (5), fastener (6) and mouthpiece cover (7) with protrusion (8) that enters the straw and prevents leakage of the liquid from the bottle. The flexible straw (9) is passed through the tube (4). To the outer straw end is fitted mouthpiece (10) that is held in the mouth while drinking. The tube (4) makes an integral part of the cap body, and is positioned oblique relative to the body, at a certain angle. Before drinking, the mouthpiece cover is removed and, if necessary, the straw is pulled out held by the mouthpiece. The straw is inserted to the bottom of the bottle, thus enabling drinking of the entire content of the bottle without tilting it.

Description

BOTTLE CAP WITH LATERAL OPENING
INVENTION DESCRIPTION
1. FIELD OF APPLICATION
The invention relates to bottle cap provided with a lateral opening with straw, enabling drinking liquid in the bottle without tilting the bottle.
In the International Patent Classification, it is classified as the Field B: Performing Operations, Transporting; Subfield: Transporting; Class B 65 D, that includes containers for storage or transport, e.g., vessels, bottles etc.; Group B 65 D 25/40, that includes pouring nozzles and spouts.
2. TECHNICAL PROBLEM
Some people find drinking directly from a bottle, without using a glass but just by removing the cap from the top of the bottle, very unpractical, especially if another activity is being performed simultaneously. Thus, computer operators when drinking from a bottle lean their heads backward, thereby reducing their field of vision and decreasing concentration. Persons driving bicycles or cars and having to drink during the drive lift the bottom of the bottle and lean the head backwards, whereby they loose focus on driving, spill the drink over themselves and do not have a fine view of the situation in front, thus endangering the traffic. The same happens about sportsmen and children in pushchairs. The technical problem that is solved by this invention relates to structure of a cap that enables drinking the contents of the bottle without leaning, spilling and disturbing any other activity being performed simultaneously.
3. STATE OF THE ART
It is well known that some producers of juices and liquid dairy products packed in tetra brick packages or cups provide with the package a flexible drinking straw with which a small opening is to be pierced in the top of the package. Such straws are sold also independently from any package. However, in order to drink with a straw the liquid content from a bottle, the bottle cap is to be removed from the bottle completely. The above described bottles and straws do not enable drinking the bottle content without removing the cap and tilting the bottle.
4. ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION
The essence of the invention is bottle cap with a lateral opening.
The lateral opening makes an integral part of the cap. In its lower part, the cap has threads by which it is screwed onto the bottle neck, and in its upper part another opening, closed with a threaded or unthreaded closure, through which the bottle content can be drank in the common way, by tilting the bottle. The lateral opening is a hollow tube, placed oblique relative to the cap lateral wall. Through the tube is passed a flexible straw that at its outer end has a mouthpiece, whereas its opposite end reaches the bottle bottom. The straw is pulled out or pushed into the bottle, held by the mouthpiece; thus it enables drinking the entire content of the bottle without tilting it. At the distal part of the lateral opening is fitted a cover that covers the mouthpiece and closes the straw opening, thus preventing the content to leak from the bottle when not in use.

6. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION EMBODIMENT
Bottle cap with lateral opening enables drinking of liquids from bottles through flexible straw, without tilting of the bottle, regardless of the bottle shape.
The lateral opening is made in the cap wall in the same way for all types of bottles or any other container. This invention description describes cap with lateral opening applied to a circular-bottom bottle.
EMBODIMENT DESCRIPTION
Cap with lateral opening
Cap with lateral opening A, according to this invention, Figures 1 and 2, comprises body 1 , closure 2 and lateral opening B. The cap with lateral opening and straw is screwed onto the bottle neck.
The closure 2, Figure 3, can be threaded or unthreaded, and enables drinking the bottle content in the common way, just by tilting the bottle.
Lateral opening
Lateral opening B, Figure 4, comprises: tube 4, ring 5, flexible fastener 6, mouthpiece cover 7 with protrusion 8 and mouthpiece 10. The flexible straw 9 is passed through the tube 4. At one end of the tube it is fitted the mouthpiece 10, whereas the other end is entered into the bottle. The mouthpiece cover 7 is bound to the ring 5 with the flexible fastener 6. The mouthpiece 10 is covered with the mouthpiece cover 7, where the protrusion 8 enters the straw 9 in order to prevent leakage of the bottle content through the straw.
The tube 4 of the lateral opening B makes an integral part of the body 1 of the cap A, and is placed onto the body 1 of the cap A at an angle a that is larger than 0° and lesser than 90°.
The straw and the mouthpiece may be embodied as a single unit. The above described lateral opening embodiment enables drinking the content of the bottle by one hand only, which is very convenient, particularly for handicapped persons. The outer part of the lateral opening, the straw with mouthpiece and mouthpiece cover, may be designed, both structurally and in terms of shape, in any of other, already known, way that is being used and intended for drinking bottle content by placing a mouthpiece directly into the mouth and tilting the bottle.
The bottles provided with a cap with lateral opening may be removed the cap and than recycled, that is yet another advantage of the described cap.
Invention functioning
When drinking the bottle content, Figures 7, 8 and 9, the mouthpiece 7 is removed and, if necessary, the straw 9 is pulled out, held by the mouthpiece 10. After that, the mouthpiece is put into the mouth and the bottle content is drank, without tilting the bottle, as presented in the Figure 10.
The bottle user may choose to drink the liquid either by removing the closure 2 from the cap A or through the lateral opening B by removing the mouthpiece cover 7 and drinking the liquid through the straw 9 that may be pulled in and out as wished.
