Abstract

ペット・サロンにおいてトリミングを行う際、及び動物病院において医療処置を行う際に、犬を安全に保定して、お互いにストレスが少なく犬の体に負担をかけない咬みつき防止用具を提供する。　本発明品による咬みつき防止用具は、犬の下顎全体を覆う幅があり、鼻を除く頭部全体を覆う長さのあるタオル様布である。当該タオル様布を、犬の顎を中心にして後頭部にかけて巻き付ける事で、顎関節を保定する。タオル様布の幅は、一対のカバーと紐によって調節される。タオル様布の両端には、延長用のベルトが取り付けられており、両側には後頭部から頸にかけて保持するベルトが連結している。また、タオル様布の中央には、面ファスナ及び紐とフックが取り付けられ、顎を保定する機能を有する。タオル様布の上端には、パットが付加され、鼻を布から出す形態をとる。

Description

咬みつき防止タオル
　本発明品は、犬の顎関節を保定するのに、最適な咬みつき防止用具に関する。
　古来より、犬は能力が高く主人に忠誠を尽くして働くので、大切に飼育される特別な動物であった。そのため、多様な使役犬が作出され、人類を支えて共存してきた。現代でも、訓練を受けた犬は、多岐にわたる分野で、職業犬として活躍している。しかし、ほとんどの犬は、家庭犬として普及しており、家族の一員として扱われ、伴侶動物としての役割を担うようになった。人間の生活様式が変化したため、犬の飼育様式も室内飼いが主流となり、衛生管理としてペット・サロンに定期的に通い、トリミングを受ける必要性が生じた。また、医学の進歩に伴う獣医療の発展により、大抵の怪我や病気が治療できるようになり、動物病院を受診する機会が増えた。伴侶動物の代表である犬と猫においては、高度医療が選択される場合もある。少なくとも、飼い主は犬の健康管理として、狂犬病やフィラリアなどの感染症に対する予防医療を受けさせなければならない。
しかし、犬にとっては、見知らぬ場所に連れて行かれ、様々な処置を受けるのは、ストレスが大きい。ペット・サロンや動物病院のスタッフは、他人に触らせない犬を扱うと、咬傷が絶えないのが問題である。犬の顎の力は強く、中型犬以上の犬に咬まれると、大怪我を負ってしまう。また、こうした過敏で攻撃的な犬には、サービスを受けさせられない現状が、飼い主の悩みである。
　従来の口輪は、気性が激しい犬には、装着させるのが困難であった。そのため、咬む犬に処置を行う場合は、鎮静麻酔剤を犬に投与して、咬みつきを防止する方法に頼ってきた。犬に鎮静麻酔剤を注射し鎮静化させるのが、一般的なペットのサービス業における対策となっている。
従来からは、犬の咬みつきを防止するために、口輪が用いられてきた。口輪の種類としては、特許文献１のように、犬の口吻の大きさに、籠に取り付けられたベルトでサイズ調整が可能な口輪が発案され、開示されている。また、特許文献２のように、犬の口吻に締結させたベルトに、犬の首輪とリードを連結させたカンを使用した、行動を制御する目的の口輪もある。

　咬む犬を捕まえて抱き上げるのは、度胸が必要で危険を伴う業務であった。保定者が、腕に防具を装着して犬に咬みつかせ、腕に食いついたところで、薬物を注射して鎮静化させ、犬を捕らえていた。しかし、人間が正面から立ち向かうと、犬にとっては、威嚇行為になってしまう。そのため、犬が防衛のために、咬もうとするという悪循環に陥っていた。犬に与えるストレスが大きいので、保定時に心不全を起こして、突然死してしまう事故も度々起こっている。また、鎮静麻酔剤の投与も、犬の体に負担をかけるので、事故死を招く。
　現代において、適切な犬の飼養管理をするためには、トリミングや獣医療などのサービスを受けさせる必要がある。そのためには、トリマーや獣医師による処置を受け、他人に犬の体を触らせなければならない。この際に、保定者と術者が怪我をしないように、犬の顎関節を保定する道具を使用する必要性が生じる。また、素早く装着ができ、犬にとってもストレスの少ない咬みつき防止用具を提供する事を課題とする。
　本発明品である咬みつき防止用具の様態は、犬の下顎全体を覆う幅があり、鼻を除いた頭部全体を覆う長さを有する、タオル様布を主要な部分とする。また、タオル様布の中央には、個体に合わせた顎の長さに調節する紐と一対のカバーが付加されている構成とする。紐を用いて布を短縮させる技法としては、布地に複数のループを設置して、紐を通す方法がある。また、布地に複数の孔を開けて紐を通し、ギャザーを形成する方法もある。さらに、布の両端には、犬の顎から保定者の手までの距離を保つ、延長用のベルトが取り付けられている構成とする。当該ベルトで調節する保定者と犬との距離は、犬の顎から肩までの長さが目安になる。
　タオル様布の両側部には、犬の後頭部から頸を保持するため、先端に締結部としてバックルを有する保持用ベルトが連結する構成とする。当該ベルトの連結部は、布の片方を直接、布に縫い付けて、もう一方の布はホック(スナップ・ボタン)を用いて留める形態をとる。もしくは、布の両方とも、ホックを用いてベルトを連結させ、着脱を可能な形態にすることも考えられる。また、締結部に用いるバックルは、ベルトの長さを無段階調整できるタイプを使用し、個体に合わせた犬の首周りのサイズに対応できるようにする。
　タオル様布の両端には、ベルトが取り付けられ、布の長さを延長する構成とする。当該ベルトは、タオルの両端に複数の孔を開けて通す、もしくは、ホックで留めるなど、取り外しが可能な形態をとる。または、ベルトの両端を布に直接、縫い付ける形態も考えられる。
　タオル様布を犬の顎に巻き付けた際に、布の中央の左右が上下に重なってできる接合部は、一対の面ファスナで構成され、鼻梁から額に位置する形態をとる。
　タオル様布の上端には緊縛用の紐を設置し、布の中央には複数のフックを付加した構成をとるものとする。当該紐をフックに交互にかけて、犬の顎全体を締め上げることで、顎関節を確実に保定する。
　タオル様布の上端である犬の鼻に接する部分には、窒息を防ぐため、弾力のある素材を用いたパットを取り付ける。これにより、使用した際に、空間を作り布から鼻を出す形態をとる。
　保定者は、本発明品であるタオル様布に付加された両端のベルトを、左右の手で握り込み、Ｕの字状にする。犬を後肢で立たせ、壁に前肢をつかせて姿勢を固定させる。犬の背面から、タオル様布をひっかけるようにして、顎に通す。両腕を交差させて、布で犬の顎を締め上げて、後頭部でベルトを締結させる。これにより、犬の鼻を除いた頭部全体が、布で覆われた状態になる。
　本発明品は、犬の視界を遮るので、動体視力の働きを抑える事ができる。犬の顎から保定者の手までの長さがあるタオル様布を用いるので、保定者が咬まれる危険性が少ない。手技により、素早く犬の顎関節の動きを封じる事ができる。
　本発明品であるタオル様布を犬の顎に巻き付けた際は、鼻梁から額で接着されるように、一対の面ファスナを付着させるものとする。また、面ファスナの形状を台形もしくは三角形にして、角度を深くすることで、個体に合わせた口吻の太さに調節できるようにする。これにより、接着する面積が広くなり、顎が短く口吻の太い犬種(ブルドック)にも、対応ができるようにする。
　本発明品には、以下のような効果と利点がある。
(１)タオル様布の幅を自在に調整して、犬の顎を中心とした頭部に巻き付ける事で、多様な犬種の顎の形態に対応できる。また、個体に合わせたサイズにも、調整が可能である。
(２)タオル様布の両端にベルトを取り付け、延長する事で犬と距離が保て、保定者が咬まれる危険性が少ない。
(３)長さのあるタオル様布を用いた手技により、素早く犬の顎関節の動きを封じる事ができる。
(４)犬の背面から保定するので、犬が攻撃的にならない。保定者が犬と対決しないので、お互いにストレスが少ない。鎮静麻酔剤を投与せずに済むので、犬の体に負担をかけない。
(５)タオル様布で、犬の鼻を除いた頭部全体を覆うため、目隠しをする効果がある。犬は動体視力が働かなくなり、周囲の動きに対する興奮が抑えられる。これにより、爪切りを始めとする犬の体の手入れや、医療処置が容易になる。

発明を実地するための形態
　図１は、本発明品である咬みつき防止用具である。咬みつき防止用具１は、犬の下顎全体を覆う幅があり、鼻を除く頭部全体を覆う長さのあるタオル様布２を主要部分とする。タオル様布２の素材は、綿または麻との混合が適する。タオル様布の左右に、一対の面ファスナ８(８:布の表面、８’:布の裏面)を取り付け、布を上下に折り重ねた際に、接着する構成とする。また、タオル様布２の中央には、複数のフック３を取り付け、装着時に顎緊縛用紐４を交互にかけて締め上げ、顎全体を保定する構成とする。この紐４には、左右にコード・ストッパー５を取り付け、緊縛した紐の長さを保持する構成としても良い。紐４の素材は、強度のあるナイロンが適する。
　タオル様布２の両側部には、犬の後頭部から頸を保持するためのベルト６を有する。当該保持用ベルト６には、布との連結部としてスナップ・ボタン１３を有し、先端に締結部としてバックル１２を有する。また、タオル様布２の両端には、布の長さを延長するベルト７を有する。
　タオル様布２の中央には、一対のカバー１０の下を通る紐９を設置する。当該紐９を巾着式に締めあげる事で、装着した犬の個体に合わせた顎の長さに調節する。紐９は、左右にコード・ストッパー５を有し、締め上げた長さを保持できる構成とする。
　また、タオル様布２の上端には、パット１１を設置する。これにより、装着時に空間ができるので、布から鼻を出して窒息を防ぐ機能を有する。パット11は、紐４のカバーにもなり、紐４が下を通る構成とする。パット１１の素材は、アクリルを用い、バーバリー織のショルダー・テープが適する。
　図２は、本発明品であるタオル様布（図１）の使用方法を示す図である。以下に、当該タオル様の布を、犬に装着させる方法を記述する。
　保定者は、犬にリードとハーネスを装着させてリードを短く持ち、犬の上半身を吊り上げる。犬を後肢で立たせて、壁に前肢をつかせ、姿勢を固定させる。保定者が犬の背面に立ち、両手にタオル様布の左右についたベルトを握り込み、Ｕの字状にする。タオル様布を犬の顎にひっかけるようにして通し、左右の腕を交差させて、顎に巻き付ける。タオル様布は、顎を一周しており、犬の鼻梁から額における布が上下に重なった部分は、面ファスナ８によって接着される。さらに、タオル様布を犬の後頭部で交差させ、保持用ベルトで締結する。これにより、タオル様布が犬の頭部全体に一周以上、巻かれた状態になり、顎と頭部が８の字状に締め上げられる。
　図３は、本発明品である咬みつき防止用具を、犬に装着させた状態を示す図である。タオル様布が、犬の鼻を除く頭部全体を覆い、鼻梁において面ファスナ８で接着された状態を示している。さらに、顎全体をフック３にひっかけられた紐４によって、締め上げられて保定され、ベルト６によって後頭部から頸にかけて締結された状態になる。タオル様布は、犬の顎と頭部を８の字状にして締め上げられる長さがあり、下顎全体を覆う幅のある物である。布を８の字状に結紮する様式は、犬が下額にかける力を後頭部でも抑え込むので、拘束力が強い。また、犬の鼻に接する部分の布には、パットを取り付けて装着時に空間を作り、鼻を布から出す形態をとる。犬は、布で目が覆われるので、周囲の動きに対して、過敏に反応しなくなる。興奮が抑えられ、様々な処置が容易になる。
　本発明品によれば、保定者が犬に咬まれる危険性が少なく、素早く犬の顎関節を保定する事ができる。鎮静麻酔剤を投与せずに済むので、犬の体への負担がなく、経費もかからない。保定者が犬と対決しないので、お互いにストレスが少なく、安全な保定方法である。また、目隠しがされるため、犬が周囲の動きに対して過敏に反応しなくなる。これにより、犬の体の手入れや医療処置が容易になり、飼養管理の向上に寄与する。
　本発明品は、犬ばかりではなく、他の動物にも応用が可能である。幅が自在に調節できるタオル様布を、動物の顎を中心にして頭部に巻き付けるので、形態やサイズを問わない。従って、あらゆる動物に対応できる。野生動物の生態観測や動物園での利用が予想される。

  1. 　犬の下顎全体を覆う幅と鼻を除いた頭部全体を覆う長さを有するタオル様布であり、中央には、一対のカバーと下を通る顎調節用紐が付加された咬みつき防止用具。また、タオル様布に複数の紐通し用ループを取り付け、紐で緊緩可能とした咬みつき防止用具。及び、タオル様布に複数の孔を開けて紐を通し、緊緩可能とした咬みつき防止用具。
  2. 　タオル様布の両端に取り付けられた、犬の顎から保定者の手までの距離を保つ延長用のベルトを有する咬みつき防止用具。
  3. 　タオル様布の上端に付加されたパットを有し、装着時に空間を作り、犬の鼻を布から出すことで、窒息を防ぐ機能を持つ咬みつき防止用具。
  4. タオル様布の中央における左右、表面と裏面に付加された一対の面ファスナを有し、装着時に犬の鼻梁から額において、布を接着させ顎を保定する機能を持つ咬みつき防止用具。
  5. 　タオル様布の両側面に連結された、犬の後頭部から頸を保持する機能を持つベルトで、先端には締結部としてバックルを有する咬みつき防止用具。
  6. 　タオル様布の中央に付加された複数のフックと、タオルの上端に付加された顎緊縛用紐を有する咬みつき防止用具。
