Definitions
- the present invention relates to an actuator and a manufacturing method thereof.
- This application claims priority based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2016-252346 for which it applied to Japan on December 27, 2016, and uses the content here.
- Patent Document 1 discloses an actuator including a coiled polymer fiber into which a twist is inserted.
- Actuators containing coiled polymer fibers with twists inserted select high-strength, highly chain-oriented precursor polymer fibers, either single filament or multifilament, and twist the precursor polymer fibers until coiling occurs. Or by inserting a twist into the precursor polymer fiber to a level that does not produce coiling, and then inserting the coiling in the same or opposite direction into the initially inserted twist.
- the actuator including a non-coiled polymer fiber with a twist inserted disclosed in Patent Document 1 does not always exhibit a large range of motion with respect to temperature change, and the output may not be sufficient.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a novel actuator and a method for manufacturing the same that exhibit a larger range of motion than the conventional one.
- an actuator that exhibits a thermally larger range of motion than the conventional one has been found. Further, by twisting a fibrous polymer material composed of a polymer having a glass transition temperature higher than 25 ° C. in an environment having a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the polymer, such an actuator can be easily formed. The manufacturing method to be obtained was found.
- the present invention is as follows.

- the angle y is x> y + 0.5 °
- Actuator having the relationship (2)

- nylon 6 and 6 are taken as an example.
- a nylon 6,6 monofilament with a diameter of 250 ⁇ m is twisted so as not to cause coiling by applying an appropriate tensile stress in an environment of 25 ° C., it can be rotated up to about 1000 times per meter, and the outermost monofilament Polymer molecules near the surface can be tilted to approximately 44 ° with respect to the fiber axis, resulting in a twist mark of approximately 44 ° on the outermost surface of the monofilament. If the monofilament of nylon 6 or 6 is twisted beyond this rotational speed, coiling will occur. That is, the angle y of the twisted trace when the nylon 6, 6 monofilament is twisted to the limit where coiling occurs is inclined at about 44 ° with respect to the fiber axis.

α=tan-1(πdT)
