Description

A METHOD OF SHARING BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
This concept is related to a method thats consists in sharing the full or unused portions of permitted and / or free baggage for people who use transportation means such as airplanes, buses, trains and ships with other passengers during their domestic and international travelling.
In commercial transport, mostly airline companies; (standard) baggage allowance is defined for each passenger. The mentioned baggage allowance is usually measured in weight. In other words; in the cargo section of the transportation vehicle, each passenger is permitted to carry baggage at a certain weight. The determined baggage allowance per passenger is mostly free of charge. In some practices; baggage allowance is a nonbreakable rule. In commercial transport companies which has nonbreakable baggage allowance rule; extra baggage weight with extra payment is not offered as an option. However, in the common practice, if the passenger passes over the baggage allowance, he/she obtains some more baggage allowance with an extra charge. Excess baggage allowance is also, for flight(travel) security, within certain boundaries. Excess baggage charge differs according to the length of the flight (travel) and / or the weight of the excess baggage. In some applications; excess baggage allowance (regardless whether the whole is used or not) is charged with a standard price.
Baggage allowance which is set by the the commercial transport companies is not fully used by every passenger. Some passengers may have less weight than the allowance baggage that is set for them. Under the circumstances, (when the claims on excess baggage are neglected) the total cargo weight determined for the passengers is not reached. However, the transport organization, even in this case; charges the excess baggage as extra for the passengers who come with the request. In the present case; even if the total cargo weight of all passengers remain within the specified limits; some passengers are paying an extra fee because as individuals they have exceeded the allowance baggage weight which is set per passenger.
Some passengers, in order not to pay an extra fee; they try to find passengers who have not filled the individiual allowence baggage and give the excess portion of their baggage to the plane using the remaining baggage allowance of these passengers. In the present case, a quest, should be made just before the flight, at the airport or at the terminal. For this reason, people with excess baggage, most of the time, can't find people who have not filled the baggage allowance. In addition, risks such as safety concerns, reduced travelling comfort, increased baggage waiting time; make it difficult for passengers to share baggage allowance. In the known technique, there is no practice that allows the sharing of unused baggage rights and removes the risks and disadvantages mentioned above.
Nevertheless, in the known technical and patent literature; there are some applications that facilitate joint consumption and use in different areas.
As an application for joint consumption, in the known technic, there is patent document under the number US8799038, in titled "Dynamic taxi-sharing system and sharing method thereof. In the said document; a taxi (taxi journey and therefore fee) sharing method is described. In this method, sharing one taxi and its fees by passengers, whose routes are the same or close to eachother carrying out their for whole trip or a part of it, are aimed. In the said method; creates a platform for providing the sharing. As an application towards to joint consumption, in the said method; there is patent document under the number US7080019 and in titled "Ride share contact system". In the said document; a method is described to allow private vehicles to share vacant places with other people traveling on the same route. The mentioned method creates a platform for providing this sharing. The mentioned joint consumption and usage methods, offer a material income opportunity for the shareholder. Having look at the total cost, the numbers that will be spending by all stakeholders who included sharing, is getting less.
The present concept which is related to a method thats consists in sharing the full or unused portions of permitted and / or free baggage for people who use transportation means such as airplanes, buses, trains and ships with other passengers during their domestic and international travelling, towards to share baggage allowance; creates a platform which is safe, fast, removes the risks and disadvantages of the current situation, and allows all stakeholders to save money. Said platform, is available to use through communication tools such as mobile applications, websites etc. The characteristics of the platform created by the method providing the sharing baggage allowance;
Passengers with unused baggage allowance and the passengers who need excess baggage are provided to find each other in a reasonable time before the departure. The passengers included in the method; travel information, unused baggage allowance amounts or required baggage allowance amounts, identity verification information; are entered as data to the platform..
Passengers with unsed baggage allowance can put an advertisement on the platform. After travel and credentials entered as data are confirmed, membership and/or announcements are accepted.
By the help of information and/or advertisement entered as data; passengers can find each other.
Passengers travelling on the same route are matched according to the unused baggage allowance and the amount of baggage needed.
Thus, the passengers are provided to able to find each other and communicate through the platform.
The passengers who communicate on implement payment and contract transactions safely through the platform.
Contract is making between the person who lets other people to use his/her baggage allowance and the person who wants to use the baggage allowance, and this contract is progressing under the platform supervision.
In order to avoid exploitation of fees and needs, bidding is provided on platform control (within defined limits).
Before the journey; meeting is happening in a point determined by the platform or passengers and baggage allowance is shared.
When it is confirmed that the right of baggage allowance has been shared; the safe pending payment is sent to the account of the person who allows using his/her baggage allowance.
Said platfrom, is available to use through communication tools such as mobile applications, websites etc.
- In this way, all the transactions which relates to the baggage allowance sharing; is available to make through the communication tools such as mobile applications, websites etc. Mentioned platform; provides sharing baggage allowance effectively, reliably, mercurially and riskless.
The mentioned platform can work consonantly and interactively with the infrastructure of the relevant commercial transport organizations. Thus, it is possible to obtain and confirm the information of the passengers who want to use the platform.
The present invention is explained in detail through sampling by reference to the attached drawing; in such drawing;
