BitRaser File Eraser

Pros: There were no pros using this product beyond being able to download it initially. It didn't destroy the hard drive or otherwise make it impossible to erase the drive with another drive erase product.

Cons: The link to RUFUS for creating a boot drive was broken. The tech support phone number provided never connected. The interface was very complicated to a layman trying to use it. I have used other programs in the past with no problems.

Overall: It is a complicated software requiring IT training and is poorly maintained and supported. The phone support is virtually non-existent, except by email and the link to the RUFUS site to create a boot drive did not work.

Pros: Inexpensive cost for a single use license. The BITRaser web site was fairly easy to download the ISO Image file.

Cons: Didn't make it clear that you needed a 2GB USB Drive
Thumb drive would not load on the laptop to be wiped clean, needed to use new laptop (and still don't know why)
Once boot disk was created on thumb drive it would not "authenticate" on the old laptop, so I needed to alter the boot configuration.
Multiple attempts were needed, with tech support assistance, to load the executable file from the open-source application (RUFUS) and
Lastly, it took multiple attempts to connect to the BITRaser server to start the disk scrubbing process.

Overall: This application was not as easy and quick as their home page touted it would be. It required many hours and some technical savvy that some home computers may find daunting and frustrating. I could not find a tech support phone number, so all conversations were through email which slowed the process considerably.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: No refund.
No real support.
Scammers.
Broken or dummy software.

Overall: I had a terrible experience with this company. I have paid for a software that didn't work and they actually refused to refund aldo i offered complete information about the broken software.
