"Excellent fully-featured CRM for third sector orgs" Posted 2025-07-25
Pros: Fully featured
Support oAuth for some elements
Really easy 1-click install on Wordpress
Very good documentation
Is run by a charity, for other charities
Mail campaigns
Ability to accept donationsCons: The CiviMail function doesn't seem to support oAuth in as integrated a way, in the end we had to use an App Password. The Campaigns bit is fine, if you we're it's the OG CRM where you can email a contact by clicking on them.
Overall: CiviCRM is a game changer, a charitable customer of mine opted for them over Salesforce. The primary concern was about getting a fully-featured CRM that worked for charities but also didn't skimp on essential functions. IT's extensible too so in future we might lean into the API or build custom additions. It's that good!
