Debt Collection

Debt Collection refers to the software and processes that debt collection agencies use to collect moneys owed to their clients, who are the original creditors for goods or services already provided. Consumers have purchased goods or services on credit with the original creditors and are expected to pay either in a lump sum or in instalments. In the event that an account becomes delinquent, the original creditor will move the debt to their internal pre-collections department, or will bundle the debt with other delinquent accounts, and pass them to a third-party collection agency, or bundle and sell the debt to debt buyers. Pre-collections departments, third-party collection agencies and debt buyers need a systematic, automated process to collect the moneys owed. This may or may not involve reporting the outstanding amount to credit bureaus.

    Pros: I love that Collect! is flexible enough to customize to the needs of our business, but structured enough that everything has a place. The support team has great experience and knowledge. They have offered great ideas and solutions to help our business.

    Cons: I wish there were more people in support to help with some of our more complex projects.

    Overall: We transitioned to Collect! A year ago, and the collect team worked tirelessly to make the transition as smooth as possible. There were small bumps in the road but they were very responsive and acted quickly to resolve issues. They helped customize Collect! to meet our business needs and run everything more efficiently.

    Pros: I have been using Collect! for a number of years now. The product clean and simple. Yet highly customizable. Service is usually very fast and they are always polite.

    Cons: None at this time. However, sometimes support tickets take a bit longer than expected but they don't leave you hanging and follow up with status updates.

    Overall: A great product and always upgrading, never stagnant. The interface is easy and straightforward. Snappy and not lagging. As long at they continue to innovate I will remain a customer.

    Thanks for your encouraging review. Yes, Collect! is highly configurable. We like to say that no 2 Collect! systems are the same because even the smallest sites customize to some extent. Development is also ongoing - right now we are engaged in a complete rewrite of the payment processing functions to give users much for flexibility. We are working on training additional support staff to help with the volume of requests.

    "Collect Customizable Reports"

    Pros: I really enjoy that on Collect there are so many options for creating customizable reports for clients. That is a huge priority for lots of our clients and some reports can be made by me in the report generator. However, if there is a difficult report to make then we are also able to submit a request to Collect which they can then create the report for us in a timely manner.

    Cons: The only hard part is if you don't have any coding background, it can be hard to make the reports on your own.

    Overall: Overall my experience with Collect has been great, and all the interactions that I have had with Collect employees has been better. They are all very nice and responsive to all questions and requests made. If you are considering using Collect I would totally recommend looking into it!

    Thanks for commenting on Collect!'s reporting capacities. In Collect! every field is available for reporting, and users have many tools to create reports including the Report Generator you mentioned and also reporting directly from their database using standard reporting tools like Crystal Reports. Of course, Collect! comes with a large standard set of reports, including operator activity, summaries and month-end.

    Pros: Ease of access to all your necessary information. Helpful tips pop up on the screen. If you are stuck there is an entire website dedicated to help you

    Cons: Some updates cost money, training from staff is limited

    Overall: Collect is a very easy to use software for our collections department. We couldn't have made a better decision.

    Hi Ashley, Thanks for your review. Regarding updates: Hosted sites are automatically updated and upgraded and so are always on the latest version. Premise sites have the option of taking a service package that includes updates within their major version. Also thanks for commenting about our extensive Help documentation - we work hard to provide lots of online resources available 24/7.
