"Workplace is NOT recommended for any migrations coming from out of date Moodle versions" Posted 2023-07-13
Pros: There are nice to have features of Workplace, mostly they can all be replicated on the open source version with the exception of the multi-tenancy and dynamic rules features.
Cons: Coming from an out-of-date Moodle version with a high degree of customizations, Moodle Workplace partner was not able to handle our load sufficiently and ran into a myriad of issues. We never even got out of onboarding phase to go to a live production site.
Overall: RECOMMENDATION - DO NOT GO TO WORKPLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MIGRATE A HIGHLY CUSTOMIZED OR OLDER SITE. Workplace features nice to have if your are at a place where you can start a site from scratch.

"Open source and free LMS" Posted 2021-05-11
Pros: It is open-source and free; any educational institute can make use of its services. The integration of plugins makes the software highly customizable. It has many assessment formats and can add multiple courses to assess students across different domains.
Cons: Not the best interface. It also has a steep learning curve, especially if you want to customize it to suit your needs. Lack of video conferencing facilities is a disappointment.
Overall: Moodle is a good tool that offers what is worth its price. Students and educators can use it to collaborate and update each other about their learning progress.
