QuickBooks Desktop Pro

Pros: Quickbooks Desktop support is much needed and very responsive. Great for small businesses that find the need to take control of their accounting in a professional manner. Pricing is also very competitive and there are many features to keep track of expenses, commissions and invoices.

Cons: It can be somewhat complicated and get you over your head. But if you stick with it, it's a powerful solution.

Overall: Quickbooks Desktop edition allows me and my team to have complete control of our accounting. We are also able to keep up with commissions and project forecasting to create a yearly budget and keep it on track easily.

Pros: There is not much I do not like about Quickbooks. It is easy to use, very intuitive and makes a business easier to run. You can keep up with inventory, pricing, vendors, customers, credit cards, invoicing and banking. There is really no end to what Quickbooks can do. You can literally reconcile bank statements and credit card statements in minutes. You can invoice customers and e-mail them and then accept payments via credit card or pay online. You can make it as detailed as you want it - it is really up to you how much or how little you use all that Quickbooks offers. Reports are so easy to do and that makes quarterly reports and end of the year for the IRS so easy to do. I recommend Quickbooks to all of my customers.

Cons: There is so much to like about Quickbooks that the CONS do not really even count. The expense of it is sometimes hard to stomach and then there is the need to renew every few years. That is just part of business.

Overall: Overall I cannot imagine running my business without Quickbooks. It makes keeping the books up to date so easy. Another thing - Support has always been so helpful to me when I have to call.

Pros: I have been using QuickBooks for over 15 years. I have enjoyed the ease of use in the layout. Getting to where I need to go and finding the information I need is as simple as following the flowchart type of screen on the Home screen.

Cons: QuickBooks isn't the best for our Construction company. We cannot get job costing correct without having to audit and manually enter some things to apply our true burden. Our company is also growing, and QuickBooks is being outgrown at this point.

Overall: QuickBooks is great for small businesses, but if your business is growing, so will your accounting needs. At that point I would recommend finding a much more comprehensive accounting software more specified to your company. After all these years with QuickBooks, we are moving to a more customizable accounting software that will integrate with my Estimating, Employee/Job Tracking, and Payroll software.

Pros: Single database helps with faster access of data.
Reliable to integrate with excel for exporting files for analysis.
Great and much more effective with financial management.

Cons: It's best suited with financial management and user friendly.

Overall: Great product with financial management with ease of tracking all transactions.
