Overall: I have had great services like communication with support is top-notch, help in installing plugins, managing my software with ease and updating the social engine software regularly makes SocialEngine the best SAAS company ever. I greatly recommend it to everyone looking for community building software. I've known SocialEngine for 12 years now and even when i pause my business, i always come back to SocialEngine.

Pros: I bought a lot of products from them and I am delighted to work with them. Very flexible for a non IT skill person like me. Easy to interact with them although we are on different continent! For me working with them was the best decision and I am very satisfied with the results!

Cons: Didn’t identify any till now and for sure I would not find any in the future.

Pros: I like the plugins and how you can bring your own social network to life. You can build your vision through this software.

Cons: I wouldn’t mind new plugins being created daily. That’s my only con but you can always just get custom plugins made.

Pros: Easy to use and relatively easy to set it up.The core works together with plugins,which can be switched on/off but their removal require some knowledge.tThink as for Wordpress but without the possibility to uninstall the modules from Admin section.

Cons: The SE PHP core has the very basic features for a modern community. By 2020 Social engine will be only available as SAAS and if you want to implement all basics this would cost you 300 bucks a month.
Almost all things you'll need for running a community site will depend on modules which depend on 3rd party developers and SE team doesn't support them.
It might worth to consider another solution if you are serious about social networks.There are no many options on the internet,but in my opinion social engine is very far from "the best" yet.

Overall: I've been using SE for more than 3 years hoping there will be some significant improvements,but I gave up on this.
