    "Well tailored suite"

    Posted 2024-03-24

    Pros: – Speed and lightness;
    – Easy to adapt to needs;
    – Convenient interface;
    – Perfect export/import of files to OpenOffice and MS Office;
    – Perfect export to PDF (Basic version) and ePub (Pro version);
    – Works on 3 main operating systems (Windows, Apple, Linux) and is multilingual;
    – Multi-station license;
    – Easy to learn without long training.

    Cons: From my point of view, it is difficult to find larger errors. The small ones are, e.g.:
    – Attempt to force the use of the "ribbon" instead of the classic menu;
    – Inability to move the part of long footnotes to the next page;
    – Inability to use really good dictionaries like "LanguageTool" from OpenOffice (although I cannot say that its dictionaries aren't good enough).

    Overall: It's really very good for everyone whose job is to write (or publish) even long texts, to build simple data bases or presentation. Especially nice for family, writers and translators. It takes not more than 900 MB. I have been use it for more than 20 years and I never noticed any inconvenience. But I never used it in a team so I cannot say how useful it may be when installed on the net. Ask another user.
