Title says it all, MeGUI fails to open the audio file for "Tad.the.Lost.Explorer.and.the.Secret.of.King.Midas.2017.1080p.BluRay.REMUX.AVC.TrueHD.5.1-EPSiLON - [1][0] English.thd". Seems that perhaps MeGUI does not support TrueHD audio.

A secondary issue is that after the error, MeGUI keeps the .thd file open and I cannot delete the file until I restart MeGUI.

Thanks for the report. I just did a test myself with a THD file in an MKV and while you get these error:

--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:19:50] Trying to open the file with LWLibavAudioSource()
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:21:50] Failed opening the file with LWLibavAudioSource(). LWLibavAudioSource: failed to get the audio track.
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:21:50] Trying to open the file with NicAudio
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:21:50] Failed opening the file with NicAudio()
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:21:50] Trying to open the file with BassAudioSource()
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:21:51] Failed opening the file with BassAudioSource(). bassAudioSource: File could not be opened!
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:21:51] Trying to open the file with FFAudioSource()
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:23:28] Failed opening the file with FFAudioSource(). Unhandled error: dimzon_avs_init_2
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:23:28] Trying to open the file with DirectShowSource()
--[Information] [2018/05/13 05:23:28] Failed opening the file with DirectShowSource(). DirectShowSource: Could not open as video or audio.

LWLibavAudioSource was able to open the file for me without issues.

Nope, I have tried two other files with exactly the same result. MeGUI simply fails with the errors reported. Have you tried with my profiles (attached under bug 919) to see if you can get the same problem?

I do not have time for MeGUI at the moment. In any case it would be great if you could upload a short sample file.

I wish I could, but it seems that the problem relates to either the size of the input file, or the length of the input file. I chopped the file Annihilation.2018.1080p.BluRay.REMUX.AVC.Atmos-EPSiLON using mkvmerge and it shows that a file of 10.7Gb / 50min works, but a file of 11.9Gb / 55min does not.
I have attached the log file with my testing.

Do you still have this issue?

Yes. I tried to encode the TrueHD audio on 2018/09/08 with version 2872 and it had the same problem :

--[Information] [2018/09/08 14:49:21] Trying to open the file with DirectShowSource()
--[Information] [2018/09/08 14:49:22] Failed opening the file with DirectShowSource(). DirectShowSource: Could not open as video or audio.

    Video returned: "DirectShowSource: couldn't open file M:\sppqqvcc.ncm\Paycheck.2003.1080p.BluRay.REMUX.AVC.TrueHD.5.1-EPSiLON - [1][0] English.thd:
The media type of this file is not recognized."

    Audio returned: "DirectShowSource: couldn't open file M:\sppqqvcc.ncm\Paycheck.2003.1080p.BluRay.REMUX.AVC.TrueHD.5.1-EPSiLON - [1][0] English.thd:
The media type of this file is not recognized."

--[Error] [2018/09/08 14:49:22] An error occurred
    ---[Error] [2018/09/08 14:49:22] Exception message: Input file cannot be opened: M:\sppqqvcc.ncm\Paycheck.2003.1080p.BluRay.REMUX.AVC.TrueHD.5.1-EPSiLON - [1][0] English.thd

Could you please upload the full log and a small sample file? E.g. mux it in MKV, use the MKV GUI to split the file in small chunks and upload one.

As explained before, a small file works, only a large file does not, thus I am not sure why you want a small file now, it will not produce the same results?

You can close this bug. I think it has been fixed because I have not seen this happen for quite a long time now.
