Sorry I am not able to provide more help on this issue but I've been using pyGObject to work with poppler. My scripts throw an error for a missing .dll when first calling poppler. Error below:

** (pdfAnnotCount.exe:10112): WARNING **: Failed to load shared library 'libpoppler-56.dll' referenced by the typelib: 'libpoppler-56.dll': The specified module could not be found.

Also of importance. This error does not seem to effect the ,my script in any way. It still functions as expected. The warning message is currently the only negative effect.
