"Meteomatics Service Review – Strengths and Feedback"
What do you like best about Meteomatics?

The Meteomatics platform is technically solid, capable of handling complex weather and climate data requirements at scale.

Offers an extensive range of global weather, climate, and environmental datasets, making it versatile for multiple industries and regions.

The API is comprehensive, easy to understand, and integrates smoothly into existing workflows. This reduces onboarding time for developers and data teams.

For a large portion of the geographies we worked with, the data quality was high, consistent, and dependable over time.

The platform’s adaptability allows for custom queries and diverse data formats, which is valuable when working with varied client requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

While the technology is strong, the pricing structure is on the expensive side, which can be a limiting factor for long-term adoption.

Regional data inconsistencies: In some regions, like Mexico, we encountered discrepancies in the data. The Meteomatics team’s support in resolving these issues was limited, leaving us to manage client concerns ourselves — something we believe the service provider should have taken ownership of.

Delayed problem resolution in specific datasets: In the India region, we faced issues with Planet datasets. Only after raising the concern were we informed about the harmonized datasets as a solution. This was a useful discovery but came late in the process.

Need for proactive communication: More advance alerts or guidance about potential dataset issues and recommended alternatives would save time and prevent disruption.

Dedicated or region-aware support could help address localized data problems faster and more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Joana Jaeckel of Meteomatics

Thank you, Prakhyath, for your detailed review!

We’re glad our platform and API meet your technical needs and appreciate your helpful feedback on pricing, data consistency, and communication. We're committed to improving regional support and proactive issue handling.

Thanks for your trust in Meteomatics!

"Enormously wide availability of weather parameters and very clear documentation"
What do you like best about Meteomatics?

Documentation available on website is clear and transparently described when it comes to complicated parameters like real feel of temperature and so on. Also individual contact and support is very kind - Meteomatics is proposing the help few time a year. I did not experience any problems with queries and any technical problems. Speed of queries is also very good and required when it is used in daily business with lots of deadlines. There are many kinds of api types to connect to data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

It is hard to find disadvantage, but if I wanted to choose any I would say, that viewing query results in web could be expanded by adding color changes and shape of graph changes thus improving viability of information when there are many parameters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Joana Jaeckel of Meteomatics

Thank you for your kind and detailed feedback!

We're glad our wide range of weather parameters, clear documentation, and responsive support are helping you in your daily business. Your suggestion about improving web visualizations is much appreciated and noted.

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

we have got some issue for some parameters (like precipitation) on historical records.

even the parameters works well at europe, it gives so high measurement records for Turkiye. this is beacuse of radar data inaccuracy.

maybe for a improvement area, python documentation could have more detailed information and explanatory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Joana Jaeckel of Meteomatics

Thank you for your thoughtful review!

We’re happy to hear you value the accuracy of our data, especially for mountainous regions, and that our API and support team have made your experience a positive one. "Very good solution"
What do you like best about Meteomatics?

We have been using Meteomatics’ weather forecasting service for several months, and the experience has been consistently positive. The platform provides highly accurate, high-resolution weather data that is crucial for our planning and operational needs.

One of the key strengths of Meteomatics is the granularity of their forecasts — both spatially and temporally, this gives us a clear advantage in decision-making, especially in weather-sensitive operations.

The API integration is also seamless and well-documented, allowing us to automate data retrieval and integrate forecasts directly into our internal tools and dashboards. Their support team is responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to assist with any technical or functional questions.

Overall, Meteomatics stands out for its combination of precision, reliability, and good customer support. We highly recommend their services to any organization that requires dependable weather forecasting for operational planning, risk management, or research purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

While Meteomatics offers a high-quality and reliable weather forecasting service, there are a few areas where users might find room for improvement, depending on their specific use case or expectations. Here are some commonly mentioned drawbacks or challenges:

1. Cost Structure

What could be better: For small businesses or startups, the pricing can be relatively high — especially if you need high-frequency data, large volumes of API calls, or fine spatial resolution.

Why it matters: It may limit accessibility for users with limited budgets, even though the data quality is excellent.

2. Learning Curve for API Integration

What could be better: While the API is powerful and well-documented, it may be complex for users who don’t have a strong technical background.

Why it matters: Non-developers or small teams without dedicated IT staff may struggle initially with integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Joana Jaeckel of Meteomatics

Thank you, Giuseppe, for your positive review!

We are very pleased that you are satisfied with the accuracy of our weather data, the API integration and our support. Your praise motivates us to keep this standard high. We understand that the cost structure can be a challenge, especially for smaller companies or start-ups - and we take this seriously. We are constantly working on developing flexible solutions that are also suitable for different requirements and budgets.

With regard to API integration, we are already in the process of further expanding tutorials and entry aids to make access as easy as possible for users without in-depth programming knowledge. Thank you for sharing your experiences and recommending our services.

We look forward to working with you in the future!

"A Game-Changer in Weather Intelligenc"
What do you like best about Meteomatics?

Easy to Use: Getting started is incredibly straightforward. All data, from historical records to real-time forecasts, is accessible through a single, clean RESTful API endpoint. This unified access method removes the usual complexity of dealing with disparate weather data formats and sources. The documentation is clear, and with connectors for popular languages and programs like Python and ArcGIS, integration into our existing workflows was seamless.

Configurable: The level of customization is exceptional. The API allows for highly intelligent and specific queries, so you only pull the exact data you need. Whether it's a forecast for a specific lat/lon coordinate, weather data along an entire route, or a time series for a particular parameter, the API handles it efficiently. This has optimized our data consumption and significantly improved the performance of our services.

Completeness: The sheer volume and variety of data are staggering. With access to over 7 petabytes of information, including data from every major global model, historical data going back to 1979, and over 1800 weather parameters, we've never been left wanting. This comprehensive dataset, combined with their proprietary downscaling techniques, ensures we get the most accurate and granular data possible for any location on the globe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

While the platform is so robust that we've rarely needed to reach out, there have been occasions where it took a while to get a response from the support team. This is a small point of feedback in an otherwise we have a very good experience, and quicker response times would make the service even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Joana Jaeckel of Meteomatics

Thank you for your fantastic review!

We’re happy to hear that our API’s ease of use, configurability, and data coverage are making a real difference in your workflows. Your feedback about the powerful customization options and seamless integration with tools like Python and ArcGIS is especially appreciated!

We also value your note on support response times — we’re working to improve and ensure even faster service going forward.

Thanks again for trusting Meteomatics to power your weather data needs!

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

While the quality of Meteomatics' data and services is excellent, the pricing model can be challenging to justify to end customers—particularly when compared to lower-cost or open-source alternatives. Meteomatics offers best-in-class weather intelligence. Their high-resolution models (e.g. EURO1k, US1k) and continuous enhancements are great, but they need to continue in communicating about their better accuracy and reliability compared to other providers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Feedback from a data consumer"
What do you like best about Meteomatics?

Company delivers a good support service and also is flexible on price tags when needed. Company assisted in tender applications and offered support and meetings to clarify matters on meteorology and weather models. Company did studies on several request regarding their models and also assisted in the query of the API to gather their services. The integration is pretty straighforward and simpler than other competitors. Overall the feedback is very positive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Meteomatics?

Company could have provided more white papers or technical content regarding meterology so we can forward to our clients. We are data consumers of weather variables but we are not meteorologist ourselves. Hebce, we would love to receive scientific content regarding the accuracy of the models ans more importantly the new advances towards hyperlocal modeling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Maria Krupinska of Meteomatics

Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re glad you value our support, flexibility, and straightforward integration. Your suggestion on providing more technical content is very helpful — we’ll work on making more resources available to support both you and your clients.
