What do you like best about Oracle Database?

Oracle Database is one of the most powerful databases available, with advanced features. Its customer support and Metalink help service are also excellent. Moving from MySQL to Oracle was easy for me. It works well with Spotfire, which allows for dynamic data visualizations and helps make better business decisions. I appreciate how it handles website deployments and stores customer data securely.

Oracle supports many programming languages and provides reliable backup and storage for large amounts of data. It also uses PL/SQL, making it easy to create complex queries. The database is great for managing audits and analyzing data, and their technical support is very responsive, solving problems quickly.

There is a useful tool that lets us easily search through our database tables. Oracle also offers top-notch security, with tools like RMAN, DATAPUMP, DATAGUARD, and RAC that help us recover lost or damaged data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle Database?

On the downside, using Oracle in the cloud can be very expensive, and the software uses a lot of memory. Also, installing it can be complicated, especially when upgrading to a new version, as you need to meet several requirements beforehand. There’s no easy way to migrate databases either, and the license is more expensive compared to other providers.

Still, I would say Oracle is the best platform I've used. However, error messages are sometimes unclear and don’t explain the problem well. It can also be hard to find certain functions, and switching from other programming languages to Oracle can be challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Oracle Database?

So, as per my usage I will say that Oracle Database is highly regarded for its performance and scalability. I can also conclude that it handles large volumes of data and complex queries efficiently, also making it ideal for enterprise-level applications.

Additionally, I also observed that Oracle offers advanced analytics and automation tools, such as machine learning and real-time data processing, which basically enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

I think above points validate that it is most useful, scalable, efficient and application driven for users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Oracle Database?

As per my usage is concerned I have one common dislike about Oracle Database is its high cost, especially for smaller organizations or those with limited budgets. I have observed that the licensing fees and support costs can be significant.

Additionally, one more point that is complexity is a drawback. And I have seen that in my local users, some users also find the resource-intensive nature of Oracle challenging, as it requires substantial hardware and computing power for optimal performance. I can say that these are the points which can conclude why I dislike Oracle Database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
