What do you like best about APS?

APS provides a very intuitive interface that makes navigation simple even for new users. The platform is stable, reliable, and allows us to manage tasks smoothly without unnecessary complications. The reporting and tracking features are clear and useful, making it easier to follow progress and keep everything organized. What do you dislike about APS?

While APS is a strong tool overall, there are areas where it could be improved. The customization options are somewhat limited, which means adapting it fully to specific workflows can take extra effort. At times, customer support response can be a bit slow when dealing with more complex issues. "APS: Strong Support, Smooth Implementation, and Helpful Enhancements Ahead"
What do you like best about APS?

In July 2024, our company transitioned from our previous payroll provider to Automatic Payroll Systems, Inc. (APS). Our former provider struggled with poor customer service, frequent staff turnover, and system updates that regularly caused other features to break. After a year of attempting to resolve ongoing issues from a flawed implementation, we evaluated several Payroll and HRIS platforms before ultimately selecting APS.

From the initial demo through implementation and go-live, APS took the time to understand our business. They weren’t just focused on selling software—they were focused on building a relationship. Their team made a genuine effort to understand our unique needs and ensure we had the right functionality in place. We had a goal of consolidating multiple systems. APS worked with us patiently as we gradually added features such as APS Hire, Benefits Administration, ACA Hours Tracking, ACA Alerts and Reporting, and COBRA services.

The customer service after go-live has been outstanding. We have a dedicated support team that consistently responds to our tickets and inquiries within two business hours, which is a huge improvement over our previous experience.

Approximately six months after implementation, we added even more APS services, including Benefits, ACA Alerts and Reporting, Carrier Connection, and COBRA. These additions significantly reduced manual work, minimized errors, and allowed us to consolidate even more systems under one platform. They also consistently add new updates or enhancements to their platform.

I would highly recommend APS to companies looking for more than just a vendor. With APS, you're not just a number—they truly care about their clients and continue to exceed my expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about APS?

My company operates multiple locations, and each one must be set up independently within APS. I’d love to see enhanced functionality that supports bulk updates across all company profiles, which would save significant time and effort. Additionally, it would be incredibly helpful if APS allowed for bulk document uploads to employee profiles rather than requiring one-at-a-time submissions. Lastly, having a centralized dashboard to view Event Tracking and Employee Updates across all locations without having to log into APS and then select each company individually would greatly improve usability and efficiency. APS Online is not user-friendly on a mobile device; it would be helpful for admin users on the go to have better access and functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about APS?

APS is a very friendly and intuitive package but the best thing about their company is the incredible customer service. You get assigned to a specific team and you know their names and contact information. It is easy to connect with them when you have an issue and they are very prompt at helping resolve it. This is incredibly comforting because many times the issues are very time sensitive. We don't have a lot of issues, but when we do we know they will help us resolve it. What do you like best about APS?

APS not only offers an easy-to-use product; their tutorials and safe-proof steps provide confidence that your payroll is done correctly. I can't say enough about their customer service. After using several payroll companies throughout the years, APS tops them all. You receive immediate help and professional feedback from a real person. Their follow-up to questions is amazing. What do you like best about APS?

Ease of use. It's very intuitive. Plus, the setup was not painful like most new setup processes tend to be. Implementation was easy.

Very responsive customer service.

This is the first system I've felt comfortable enough to invest the time into integrating our Benefits and Open Enrollment process and other modules.

We use APS for almost every function, so we use the system all day, every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about APS?

You have to log in every 5 minutes or so. I wish we could change that time frame ourselves.

"Notes" needs to be its own tab on the Employee profile. When we terminate an employee, there is a place to add notes to elaborate on or add special circumstances.

I would like to be able to create surveys to send to employees. A short "temp check" survey of our people would be fine.

I was told early on, "If there is a report that is not already pre-built in the Reporting section, or that you can't create on your own, we can build it for you". I did not find out until just recently that there would be a cost of $150/per hour to build it. The information pulls from reports already in the system, so I'm not sure why I couldn't just build a custom report and have access to that information to add to the criteria.

I love the ability to text or email all or some of our employees simultaneously. It would be nice if we had the ability to add an attachment to the emails, though.

I would also like the ability to input the data and then add a future date as an effective date (e.g., wage increases). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about APS?

I am at the beginning of my journey with APS, but so far they have been amazing. The process to learn about and sign on with APS has been extremely smooth and well done. I worked with Kaylee at the beginning and she was attentive, knowledeable, and extremely helpful as this is my first time working with a big payroll company. APS was not the cheapest quote I received, but I chose them because of their customer service. They were definitely better in this area than the other companies I talked with. Bonus! What do you dislike about APS?

I don't really have any. If you are a smaller company, their minimum monthly cost is $250. This could be a problem if you don't have enough people to meet that quota. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about APS?

The website layout is easy to navigate. Customer service is also very helpful. When I was taking over our payroll duties and had questions, their support team was quick to respond and address any issues I was having. Aps also has everything we need to manage our employees. What do you dislike about APS?

There have been a couple times when I have searched for something and didn't know the correct words to search for the answer I needed. I then just had to reach out to customer support and wait for them to get back with me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
