I've been using Brainscape for the past couple of weeks to study for the WSET 2 exam and have found it incredibly helpful for a number of reasons. First, the WSET 1 course was helpful in that the online platform in which it's taught had great flashcards for everything you needed to know for the exam. However, for WSET 2, the course only had about 10 questions each for all of the white and black grape varietals! I didn't know how I was going to study until the course provider provided a Brainscape Pro membership for 3 months. I haven't yet taken the exam, but it has been a huge help as there are about 800 flashcards taken mostly from the textbook book but written by a Master of Wine candidate. However, it's not just the existence of the flashcards themselves, the way you can provide your confidence level from 1-5 (color coded) and have those questions repeat in frequency base on how well you do or don't know them and to bookmark them to look at later is so helpful! I've been using it frequently: multiple times a day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's really no downside of using Brainscape -- I don't know how I'd study without it. However, the WSET 2 flashcards to have sometimes extraneous aroma/tasting notes that are not directly from the text, so I feel like I often have to cross-check the WSET official text and then just try and remember which ones had too much information. When you go to edit a flashcard, I wish you could edit it for yourself. Instead, it goes to the creator of the deck and while I've been submitting corrections for the past week, I have yet to hear back if any of them have been accepted. The information is definitely accurate, it just feels like maybe some of it might be more WSET 3? This is me nitpicking though. I would say 95%+ is word-for-word from the text.
