"Great Study Tool for WSET 2 Exam!"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I've been using Brainscape for the past couple of weeks to study for the WSET 2 exam and have found it incredibly helpful for a number of reasons. First, the WSET 1 course was helpful in that the online platform in which it's taught had great flashcards for everything you needed to know for the exam. However, for WSET 2, the course only had about 10 questions each for all of the white and black grape varietals! I didn't know how I was going to study until the course provider provided a Brainscape Pro membership for 3 months. I haven't yet taken the exam, but it has been a huge help as there are about 800 flashcards taken mostly from the textbook book but written by a Master of Wine candidate. However, it's not just the existence of the flashcards themselves, the way you can provide your confidence level from 1-5 (color coded) and have those questions repeat in frequency base on how well you do or don't know them and to bookmark them to look at later is so helpful! I've been using it frequently: multiple times a day! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

There's really no downside of using Brainscape -- I don't know how I'd study without it. However, the WSET 2 flashcards to have sometimes extraneous aroma/tasting notes that are not directly from the text, so I feel like I often have to cross-check the WSET official text and then just try and remember which ones had too much information. When you go to edit a flashcard, I wish you could edit it for yourself. Instead, it goes to the creator of the deck and while I've been submitting corrections for the past week, I have yet to hear back if any of them have been accepted. The information is definitely accurate, it just feels like maybe some of it might be more WSET 3? This is me nitpicking though. I would say 95%+ is word-for-word from the text. "Medical Assisting to Medical Student"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I've been using Brainscape for years now through medical assistant training, MCAT prep, and during medical school. The spaced repetition is such an effective way to learn and has both mobile and desktop interface. I appreciate I can add superscripts and subscripts as well. Since they are still growing and improving, they send periodic opportunities for users to suggest changes-love that my opinions are considered. I also appreciate the "mastery achieved" for each round as it motivates me to continue studying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

I know the company is considering a change, but you have to be connected to internet to make new cards. I would love the capability to make cards anywhere and have them update when I get connection back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Absolutely amazing idea and design to facilitate access to quick revision and study"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I am using this app every single day since they day I got to know about it, and at least for 1 hour everyday.

Using these flashcards are helping me study and revise my topics really well. And with the dynamic rotation of different cards based on your response is just perfect!

Most importantly this already has a ton of Decks already created which can be used by people like you and me for thorough practice or revision. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

Least helpful, to be honest is nothing

There's nothing in this concept, idea, platform that is like a boulder blocking my path to my goal. I'm getting whatever I need.

Of course there can always be improvements and we can submit the same on their website, which they will consider for implementation.

One suggestion I have is to be able to connect with other learners and able to connect/become friends with them. Common topics, or classes that user's share can contact each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Does exactly what I was hoping for, and does it well."
What do you like best about Brainscape?

Brainscape's approach to flashcards is probably the best I've encountered among online paid sites. No frills, no distractions, and has a good sorting algorithm that does a good job of making studying things easy. I have used it nearly every day since I've gotten my membership and am very satisfied with it so far.

It has a fairly wide selection of decks, both site-promoted and user generated, and even the non-promoted decks are quite high quality and exactly what I was looking for. It makes studying a breeze. I've been enjoying my time with it in a way I don't usually enjoy studying, but it manages to make it fun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

Occasionally the formatting on cards gets confused, particularly with questions with numbers at the start of the answer (eg. IP address related questions) and it will treat it as a answer number to increment, which can make things needlessly confusing.

Another thing that's not exactly a problem with the site in as much as it is just a personal nitpick, is that Brainscape's "confidence score" algorithm seems like its more tuned for longer term repeat study of decks, which isn't all that compatible with how I personally prefer to use it, which is resetting my confidence scores each time I revisit a certain deck. This is purely due to my personal preference.

Finally, it'd be nice if it had a slightly cheaper monthly subscription option. There's great discounts if you choose to get a multi month subscription off the bat which are pretty good deals, but I personally like to go by what I know I'll use so I'm not left with extra time on a subscription that I'm not fully utilizing. This again is just a case of personal preference though, and a monthly subscription is still worth it for me with the value I get from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The absolute best"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I’ve been using Brainscape for about the last 9 years throughout school. I’ve only grown to love it more and more as they update and add features over time. The confidence based learning is just SO much better than other mainstream flashcard apps. Anytime I try using a Quizlet I get so frustrated because I’m wasting time on cards I know partially but have to say “I don’t know it” instead of rating it 1-5. Also love that you can share editing access and request edits to cards. And importing flashcards from other apps is so easy to do too. I recommend it to absolutely everyone at my school. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

I wish I could sort my classes how I want to instead of just alphabetically. I don’t like having to scroll through to find the class I want. It would be good if I could sort classes into folders or pin classes at the top. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Increases student engagement outside of the classroom, significantly improving knowledge retention"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

Students take responsibility for their own learning at a time that suits them.

No pressure of getting things wrong on the path to improvement.

Customer support with getting accounts set up and running was excellent, even with very large cohorts of students.

Friendly and helpful 1:1 video meetings with customer support which are easy to book

Setting up classes and assigning "decks" of flashcards to students is very quick and easy

Quick to add additional "decks" of flashcards as you progress through the course and complete new topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

Some of the decks on the site have errors in, or may contain content which isn't relevant to your students, but that's not a problem if you direct students to only use the decks you have created/curated yourself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cramming for Medical Terminology 101"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I am able to work out and use the flashcards at the same time and bombard my brain with medical terminology in a way that will jam the information into my brain so that it will be there when I take the exam.

I can't wait to try the pro version! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

is there a way to feed more medical terms into the system? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brainscape, something revolutionary in the world of studies"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

During my use of the app, I noticed how organized and practical Brainscape is, making each of its functions almost automatic. I say this because I am not fully fluent in English, I am Brazilian, and even so, I can deduce everything that is in the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

The price of Brainscape-Pro. Paying 1000 reais at once to have Brainscape-Pro for the rest of your life is almost inaccessible for the majority of the Brazilian population, as it is equivalent to almost 2/3 of the Brazilian minimum wage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, user friendly flash card and study app"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I’ve been using Brainscape to prepare for the WSET wine exam, and it’s been a huge help. The app makes it really simple to create and organize flashcards, and I like how the spaced repetition keeps bringing back the material I need to practice most. It’s quick to use on the go, and I feel like I’m actually retaining more compared to just reading notes. Highly recommend if you want an efficient and stress-free way to study. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

Nothing of note so far but maybe a combined set of study decks rather than broken out into sections Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent flashcards - huge selection and helped me with my recent exam"
What do you like best about Brainscape?

I chose Brainscape as I was revising and preparing for my WSET Level 2 exam. I found the format really engaging and helped me to both remember and understand many of the esoteric details I needed. I liked the fact that it runs across my iphone, ipad and macbook and updates according to my progress. Whenever I had a spare moment I was able to open the app and spend a few mins extra studying at my convenience. I had considered using physical file cards but they would not have allowed me such flexibility. Being able to bookmark particular cards was really helpful. My exam was last night and I felt it went really well - I am honestly not so sure I would have felt the same had it not been for Brainscape. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Brainscape?

My only criticism would be that for some of the cards a more detailed explanation of the answers would have been appreciated. but this is a minor criticism as overall I found them really helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
