Camtasia offers video editing with a GUI very easy to understand, very intuitive, and with tools to help you get things solved quickly.
Compared to other non-Adobe video editors like Filmora, VSDC, and PowerDirector, Camtasia does not offer that high technical (like VSDC or PowerDirector) options but still produces video quickly with transitions that do not look cheesy (like PowerDirector). Compared to Filmora, Camtasia has a way better tech support even with its flaws.
As I use Camtasia to create video tutorials, I have to talk about it's tools for this. It has one of the best captioning tools I've ever used, letting you type quickly and jump to the next part non-stop. The screen capturing interface is the one I use the most to teach clients how to use the products I make for them and it also lets you change the shaky mouse pointer for a smooth one, add sounds, crop videos, make zooms, animations, text animations and a whole battery of tools that make my videos looks super professional and clients impressed and re-hiring me for more! As said on the technical part. Once or twice I've used the technical support. I pay for an annual maintenance fee that would let me get a bit better tech support but no. I have to ping-pong messages before the agent stopped assuming things I already explained on the ticket and he simply didn't read or didn't care to read. The ticket had to be scalated to then be read properly and for me to receive the attention I was supposed to have on the first place.
On the software itself, they offer assets that aren't that much of an improvement, so I never buy those because I can create them by my own on my side.
Camtasia allows you to export GIFs but without transparent background. I have to them take the Gif to another software, remove the background and then use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
