"Chrome is quick, compatible, and doesn't take up space"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

Chrome is fast and a small OS, which means there isn't as much to go wrong vs Windows and so far, nothing has really gone wrong. The system is also more open than Apple's operating systems--I can always find what I've downloaded easily. It's a GUI for Linux, and after over eight years on this Chromebook, it still boots up and loads whatever I need in about five seconds.

I use it for just about everything as far as browsing and downloading. It was easy to implement buttons for whatever I needed, and access free programming tutorials. New features have integrated smoothly, and it's one of the cleanest, easiest operating systems to use.

As far as customer support, I haven't had to contact them, which means this OS is robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

My only complaint is that my Chromebook is no longer supported. I understand that devices get older and may not be able to handle the latest OS as quickly, but I don't think my Chromebook has reached that point, and I'd rather wait a few more seconds than buy a new one. There's an opportunity here for a sustainability campaign, but it's difficult to complain if a Chromebook (or any laptop) is still going strong after eight years. What do you like best about Chrome OS?

Chrome OS stands out for its speed and simplicity, with boot times typically under 10 seconds. The interface is clean and minimal, making it especially accessible for beginners and students. In terms of security, automatic updates and sandboxed applications help lower the risk of malware, and built-in virus protection adds another layer of safety. Integration with Google services is seamless, allowing for easy syncing with Google Drive, Gmail, Docs, and other apps, while files are automatically backed up to the cloud. Chromebooks are also known for their impressive battery life, thanks to the lightweight nature of Chrome OS. Affordability is another advantage, as many Chromebooks are less expensive than Windows or Mac laptops. Users benefit from access to both Google Play Store apps and web-based applications. Maintenance is minimal, with little need for antivirus software or system cleaning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

The offline functionality is still somewhat limited, as most apps and documents are primarily cloud-based. While offline capabilities have been getting better, they still don't match what you find on Windows or macOS devices. In terms of software, you can't run traditional Windows or Mac programs, such as the full version of Adobe Photoshop or other professional applications. Chrome OS is best suited for web apps and lightweight software. On the hardware side, Chromebooks generally offer less power than other laptops in the same price range, which means gaming and demanding software tasks are restricted. File compatibility can also be an issue, since opening certain file types may require additional steps or specific apps. Printing can be challenging as well, because Chrome OS depends on cloud printing or compatible printers, and not every printer works seamlessly with the system. "Fast, Simple, and Secure — But Best for Web-Based Work"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

I really like how lightweight and fast Chrome OS is. It boots up in seconds and stays responsive even after long periods of use. The integration with Google Workspace is seamless — my Docs, Sheets, and Drive files are always in sync across devices. I also appreciate how little maintenance is required; automatic updates happen quietly in the background, and the system stays secure without me having to think about it. What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

While it’s great for web-based work, it can feel limiting when you need to run certain desktop applications that aren’t available as web or Android apps. Offline functionality has improved over the years, but it still isn’t as smooth as a traditional OS. Hardware options can also vary in quality, depending on the model you choose. "Smooth Integration, Needs Better Optimization"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

I appreciate Chrome OS for its efficiency and user-friendliness, making it easy to blend into my workflow. The smooth, buttery setup experience and the seamless syncing between Chrome OS and my Android phone are delightful. I value the familiarity and accessibility of Google services, which run faster and more efficiently on Chrome OS than on Windows. The integration with Google Workspace is invaluable for my business tasks, making Chrome OS my go-to for productivity. The Google ecosystem works excellently between Android and Chrome OS, contributing to my satisfaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

I find the user interface and optimization lacking compared to other systems like Mac OS. The RAM management and application responsiveness need improvements for better speed and fluidity. Although Chrome OS is efficient in many ways, there is room for enhancement in the overall performance and visual appeal to make it on par with more premium operating systems. "Great Operating System especially if you are connected to the Web always"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

The thing that I best like about the Chrome OS is the speed and performance. After using Windows for a long time. I love the way Chrome OS boots up quickly and does all the tasks in very quick time.

You can download all the apps that we require from the Play Store which makes it very easy to use. Also they provide frequent updates and it is easy to update the OS to the latest version.

Chrome OS makes it easy as it is pretty much similar to how we use an Android phone and that makes it very easy to work in Chrome OS compared to Windows or Linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

The thing that I don't like about Chrome OS is that for majority of the apps require Internet so if Internet is not working then sometimes it feels Chrome OS is useless. So internet is a major requirement for laptops running Chrome OS.

Another issue that I don't like about Chrome OS is that the laptops that run Chrome OS don't have much memory in them. So most of the time we have to store all the data like our pictures and videos in the cloud. So this requires us to buy storage of Google One. The advantage of this is even if the laptop is not working we can retrieve the data but we have to spend extra for this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Chrome OS review"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

1. Simplicity and speed

Chrome OS is lightweight, boots up quickly, and stays fast over time since it’s built around the Chrome browser and cloud-based apps.

2. Security

Automatic updates, sandboxing, and verified boot make Chrome OS very secure with minimal maintenance required from the user.

3. Cloud integration

Seamless integration with Google Drive and other cloud tools makes it easy to access files from anywhere and collaborate in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

1. Limited offline functionality

Many apps and features depend on an internet connection, which can be inconvenient if you need to work offline for long periods.

2. Software limitations

Chrome OS can’t run traditional desktop applications like Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, or certain specialized software — it’s mostly limited to web and Android apps.

3. File management constraints

Managing local files or external drives can feel restricted compared to Windows or macOS systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifies Secure Computing with Seamless Google Integration"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

I appreciate the seamless integration with Google Cloud services and the user-friendly interface, which makes it easy to navigate. The ability to run Android and Linux applications is a huge plus, offering great flexibility. Chrome OS also impresses me with its fast performance, built-in virus protection, and efficient cloud integration, which enhances my productivity. The automatic security updates and the long battery life are noteworthy, providing convenience and reliability. I enjoy the feature-rich environment, including options like text-to-speech and high contrast mode, which make it inclusive, and the cloud integration significantly reduces costs while offering centralized IT management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

I find that there are connectivity issues when connecting to a virtual private network (VPN) with Chrome OS, which makes it challenging to have a stable network connection. I believe the system should include more extensions within Chrome OS by default to enhance VPN connectivity. This improvement would significantly help in addressing the connectivity issues while working remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Chrome OS is simple and smooth for daily work"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

For me, the biggest plus is the ease of use. It is very light, no headache, and anyone can understand quickly. The system is fast, boots in seconds, and updates happen automatically. I also like the number of features for simple work like browsing, Google Docs, video calls, and media. I use it daily, so the frequency of use is high, and it never feels heavy. Plus, when I had questions, the customer support and online help was quick and easy to follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

The downside is offline use — without internet many things don’t work smoothly. Also, storage is small in many Chromebooks, so keeping big files is tough. It is not for people who need advanced tools, because many professional softwares are missing. Sometimes the ease of integration with non-Google apps feels limited. "Fast, simple, and stress-free"
What do you like best about Chrome OS?

It boots in seconds and stays fast. Super easy to use, no bloat, and updates happen quietly in the background. Battery life is great and it feels very secure. Signing in brings all my stuff back right away. Works nicely with Google Drive and most Android apps, so web, email, docs, and video calls are a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Chrome OS?

Big “pro” apps are limited—things like full Photoshop, heavy Office macros, CAD, or serious games usually need Windows/Mac. Offline works, but can be clunky. Some printers and special accessories don’t play nice. Storage on cheaper models is small, and window/multi-monitor tools are still a bit basic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
