I been using this for 2 yrs. Up until I got an accountant to tell me much of my expenses have been double counted because dext does not recognise invoice numbers. Now I am stuck having to resubmit 2 years of tax expenses and recast my personal income (self-employed) I hate dext. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

when you want to filter say 2023 expenses then export. you cannot just hit select all- you have to scroll scroll scroll down to the bottom then select all or else it will only take the first 50 displayed. Also finding reciepts are difficult especially if you made those with a expense report. So if you find a duplicate you have to delete it out of the expense report too. There are just so many little gotchas with this. And its not cheap. I bought it to save me work, it ended up being more work that a pile of physical reciepts and ziplocs. At first, I thought Dext would be helpful. I liked the thought of how it could help me with keeping my receipts and inputting the correct information. However, this is not the case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SCAMMY PRACTICES!!! They charged me $715.00 without my permission.

When I saw this alarming cost jump in my account, I asked them why they were charging me this amount as this was definitely not my usual annual plan fee. They told me that since they no longer offered the plan I subscribed to, they decided to transfer me onto a different plan that was "suitable" for my needs. Of course the plan they decided was "suitable" for me was $500 more expensive than my last one (and nowhere near suitable for my one person small business - just the most they could charge me).

The problem is I never gave them permission to change me into a different plan nor for this significant price change. They tried to defend themselves saying that they had emailed me to inform me but I personally never saw this email. Plus this email could easily be missed for anyone. Unfortunately, they prey over this and take advantage of having people's credit card information through what they claim to be "autorenewal" (when it is really them changing your plan on your behalf and charging you hundreds of dollars more than you agreed to in your old plan).

This is a horrendous business practice and I would warn anyone from considering Dext. Regarding the app functionality, I spent too much money here in the past for years of me having to hire book keepers and accountants just to in the end manually fix up Dext's mistakes. My most recent book keeper said she ends up having to fix Dext's mistakes for her clients that use Dext and is confused at why her clients are spending this much money on this app when she has to fix these errors, gst misreadings, miscategorization, etc, innacurrate readings, etc.

Before I hired her, I spent more time trying to work out the kinks in Dext's program than what was worth the cost by far. Additionally, support is really bad and they do not have a phone number for you to call and can sometimes take a long time to reply. Fortunately, I was never charged due to my bank blocking my card because they believed this payment was “suspicious activity”. Unfortunately this service isn't even worth the initial money let alone the money they try to charge you without your permission. Please look elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part was when I converted bank statements to CSV format within no time which I used to upload in my accounting softwares Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometime, while integrating it with my accounting softwares, duplication of invoices did take place Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dext software allows us to electronically capture the invoice image and store all the receipts and other supporting documents that a business requires for smooth process of book keeping. It helps us to complete our work easily and saves our time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are using this software for bokk keeping purpose and one thing needs to be improved is picture quality. Sometimes it blures our pictures of the documents and make it unreadable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some time it's take time to upload & sync due to technical issue or may be internet issue. This issue I have noticed so far. Apart from this nothing dislike about Dext. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That it absorbs the data wuthin seconds. You can easily integrate with other apps such as Xero. You can set up rules to automate the process. I use it very hour for my receipts and invoices. Whats the most important thing is as it saves as a database extra for the information entwered in Xero in case that you delete anything fro the system itself. The most helpful thing is automatic reading of document and capture the data to fill up as per the requirements. Ine more thing is online updating is at its best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes it's take time to read the document because of technical issue. One more thing is it is not able to fetch the data in light document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Online and Mobile App are very easy to navigate and use. The training resources that are included are excellent. Dext saves my business a lot of time by setting up automatic rules for suppliers, bank accounts, etc. to directly integrate into our accounting system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

May not be the best choice for larger businesses with multi level approval of expense reports. I have not signed up a larger client so it may be fine, but I do not think it has this feature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The accuracy of data recognition and the Supplier Rules make bulk expense review and posting extremely efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
