It automates subbasin delineation, curve number (CN) computation using land use and soils maps, and lag time (time of concentration) computation. GeoHECHMS is a data wrapper to the industry-standard US Army Corps of Engineers HEC-HMS software using an AutoCAD compatible graphical user interface. Quickly compare different scenarios and alternatives, such as pre-development conditions with different post-development designs. Greatly speed up stormwater projects with automated workflows to automatically delineate watersheds, compute curve numbers (CN), compute TOC & lag times, compute % impervious, assign design storms, size detention ponds, and generate engineering reports.

Integrate HEC-HMS directly with AutoCAD (including AutoCAD Civil 3D), Bentley MicroStation and ESRI ArcGIS map data. Export completed HEC-HMS models and results to AutoCAD, MicroStation and ArcGIS.

Delineate subbasins and watersheds from 3D digital elevation terrain data. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces, MicroStation surfaces, contours, TINs, DTMs, DEMs, survey points, LiDAR, and other external digital elevation terrain data.

GeoHECHMS Demo - Complete Land Use Coverage

Complete land use coverage is provided for USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and many other parts of the world. For the USA, land coverage data is provided at a 100 x 100-foot grid cell size. This makes it extremely easy to compute composite curve numbers, time of concentrations, lag times and more.

GeoHECHMS Demo - Complete Imperviousness Coverage

Complete percent imperviousness coverage is provided for the USA at an approximate 100 x 100-foot grid cell size. This allows a more accurate stormwater model to be developed, allowing urbanization effects to be directly incorporated into the stormwater model.

GeoHECHMS Demo - MDI Multiple Model Editing

Load, edit, and run multiple HEC-HMS models simultaneously. The Multiple Document Interface (MDI) allows easy copying and pasting between models, quick comparisons of input data and results between scenarios, and other modeling efficiencies. What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

All models in HEC-HMS are deterministic, they assume exact knowledge of initial and boundary conditions.

This can limit realism in scenarios where uncertainty or probabilistic behavior is important.

Parameters are assumed to be time-stationary, they don’t change over time.

Simplified Flow Representation and it does not support complex networks in urban engineering systems. lack of advance urban pipe network features creates redundancies and uncertainties. "Very supportive staffing and accessible resources."

What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

The most helpful is the staffing as well as the detailed error codes when running the software allows for efficient tried and error/ solving issues when they arise. I also appreciate that there are multiple ways to get the same function whether its the ribbon or right clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

Some of the work flow is less straight forward and it is very sensitive to missing information/parameters. I would like it if the inputs where more guided instead of an iterative process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Civil Geo HMS Drainage Study Review"

What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

I really appreciate the program allowing the user to import shapes from dgn and allowing you to use those shapes to define your drainage area. It does not take much time to create the areas and junctions so that flows are created. Also, the reports are well written out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?

What do you like best about GeoHECHMS?

I appreciate its seamless integration of CAD drawings. And also the automated curve number calculations, great time of concentration tools. It's everything you need for hydrology in one spot. I use it often for large rural drainage areas calcs. Plus, for this software and for GeoStorm, I have had nothing but excellent support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Time Saver"
