"Reliable Tool for Team Time Tracking and Activity Monitoring"
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

The best thing about Hubstaff is how effortlessly it tracks our team’s working hours and activities. It gives us full visibility into what everyone is working on, thanks to real-time activity levels, optional screenshots, and app/URL tracking. The time logs and productivity data are especially helpful for remote team management, client billing, and performance reviews. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

One downside is that the interface can feel a bit cluttered or unintuitive at times, especially when navigating advanced reports or project settings. Also, the screenshot feature, while useful, can raise privacy concerns if not configured thoughtfully. Lastly, offline tracking sometimes has syncing issues when the internet connection is unstable. What do you like best about Hubstaff?

Transparency: Clear visibility of work hours and tasks builds trust between employees and managers.

Daily Reports: Automatic reports keep everyone informed and help encourage employees to track their own progress.

Productivity Tracking: Easy to monitor activity levels and ensure consistent performance.

Remote-Friendly: Perfect for managing distributed teams, especially during remote work situations.

Ease of Use: Simple, intuitive interface makes it easy for both employees and managers to adopt.

Accountability: Keeps team members focused and aligned without micromanagement.

Data-Driven Insights: Helps identify productivity trends, workload balance, and opportunities for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

Occasional Over-Tracking: At times, the detailed activity tracking can feel a bit rigid for creative or brainstorming tasks that don’t always reflect in keystrokes or clicks.

Internet Dependence: Productivity tracking accuracy drops if there are connectivity issues.

Limited Offline Flexibility: Offline work tracking could be more seamless.

Learning Curve for New Users: Some team members initially found it overwhelming until they got used to the system.

Customization Options: More flexibility in customizing reports and dashboards would be helpful.

Notifications: Daily/weekly reminders can feel a bit repetitive if not managed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

"Good for freelancers"
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

Maybe have a pop up window that is over your screen. It normally sits in the background and if you want to access it you have to close everything or access it through the navigation tool bar. I think a hoovering window on top of everything with stats could really help ! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

Maybe after a pause or zero activity it can ask the user hey are you still there? Maybe you are reading a document and do not require that activity but you are STILL tracking time. Or have a timer set that you can edit, something like after 15 minutes of no activity automatically cut off. Sometimes you forget and it is a pain to go back and delete all that time that you accidentally left hubstaff going. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for managing remote teams and tracking productivity"
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

What I like most about Hubstaff is how easy it makes time tracking and task management for distributed teams. It allows me to monitor productivity without being invasive, generate accurate reports for clients, and maintain full transparency on the work being done. The integration with other project management tools is also a huge plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

Sometimes the timer doesn't start properly when there's a connection issue or when switching networks, which can affect the accuracy of logged hours. I also wish the system would send clearer notifications when something goes wrong so I can fix it right away instead of realizing it later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Full honest review of Hubstaff - no fluff"
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

I will start with the obvious! ACCURATE time tracking! Hubstaff tracks to the second, making it easy for contractors to refer back to for invoicing and to ensure they are being paid correctly for all of their valuable time. I also love that Hubstaff has built in tools to help monitor breaks - both paid and unpaid.

I love that there is the ability of activity tracking. From screen captures, activity rates to where the time was spent. As well as visited URL's and apps used. These tools are incredibly helpful when verifying work or to detect suspicious activity.

Because of the great insight from these two mentioned above, I have began looking into the payroll and invoicing side of Hubstaff and it seems incredibly easy to use, and much more time efficient. I am looking forward to diving deeper into this area

I also cannot say enough about the support I have received from the Hubstaff team. Every time I have had a question, concern. Big or small, they always are quick to respond, and if they do not have an answer, they will find one for me. That is so important to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

In my opinion, my biggest dislike would be the insights/screen captures/insights. NOT because these are bad features, but because I believe they can be built on to better help with tracking activity.

For instance:

Insights - I will sometimes get notified of suspicious activity, when it is not suspicious; which is fine as it is technology, however there are many times that activity that should be flagged, is not. With a larger group to manage it can become difficult to look through everything, so I did rely heavily on the insights, later to find a lot of concerning things while checking profiles that did not have insights.

I love the screen captures, but I do wish there were an option to choose more than 3 every 10 minutes or to trigger a screenshot each time something suspicious was detected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Time Tracking and Team Management Tool for Remote Teams"
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

We've been using Hubstaff daily for several months to manage our remote team, and it’s been a game-changer. The time tracking is accurate, the activity levels help with accountability, and the screenshots give us visibility without micromanaging.

What we appreciate most is the transparency it brings to our team operations. Payroll and invoicing based on tracked hours are seamless, and the reports are detailed yet easy to understand. Implementation was quick and smooth—it only took a short time to get our entire team onboarded and running efficiently.

Support has also been responsive whenever we had questions or needed help with setup.

Pros:

Intuitive time tracking

Activity monitoring and screenshots

Easy payroll and invoicing

Strong reporting features

Great integrations with project management tools

Fast, easy implementation

Reliable for daily use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

Honestly, there’s nothing I truly dislike about Hubstaff. It’s been smooth and reliable, and any features I hoped for were already part of the platform. The team clearly puts thought into building a product that supports both productivity and transparency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Tool That Just Works for Me"
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

I've been using Hubstaff for a while now, and overall, I'm genuinely happy with how it works. As someone who needs to keep track of my time and projects efficiently, I've found Hubstaff to be a reliable and straightforward solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

What I appreciate most is its ease of use. Getting started was simple, and the interface is intuitive. Whether I'm tracking time for different clients or specific tasks within a project, it's just a few clicks, and I can be confident that my hours are being accurately recorded. This has taken a significant burden off my shoulders when it comes to administrative tasks.

The time tracking itself is seamless. The desktop application runs smoothly in the background, and I rarely have to think about it once it's set up. The ability to easily switch between projects is a big plus, especially when juggling multiple responsibilities.

Beyond just tracking time, I find the reporting features really useful. Being able to see a clear breakdown of where my time is spent helps me understand my own productivity patterns and provides valuable data for billing and project management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"This is the best app for attendance tracking."
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

I think one of the best things about Hubstaff is its flexibility and range of features for both remote teams and freelancers. It’s a great tool for time tracking, productivity monitoring, and project management, which can be really helpful when you’re trying to stay on top of multiple tasks or collaborate across different time zones.

The fact that it tracks time automatically, takes screenshots (if enabled), and integrates with so many other tools (like Trello, Slack, Asana, etc.) means it can really streamline workflows. Plus, it has features like GPS tracking for field teams, which is pretty unique. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

Can feel invasive: The screenshot and activity tracking can make some people feel like they’re being watched too closely.

Hard to use at first: It has a lot of features, so it can be confusing to get started.

Limited customization: You can’t tweak everything the way you might want, especially with reports.

Can get expensive: The basic plan is cheap, but advanced features cost more.

Sync issues: Sometimes, the data doesn’t update or sync properly with other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Inflexible System and Challenging UX."
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

If you're willing to use their rigid system for how you have your team log their work, I'm sure it is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

The user experience is frankly extremely challenging, both as an admin and as a user, making the tool difficult to use. If you want to use timesheets, activity, screenshots differently you will be disappointed. It left admins frustrated and employees concerned. We went back to Harvest.
