"Jira Software: Powerful Agile Management, but Complex and Overwhelming for Smaller Teams"
What do you like best about Jira?

Jira Software delivers powerful agile project management with customisable workflows, sprint planning, and real-time dashboards that keep teams aligned and productive. Its seamless integrations with development tools and flexible automation capabilities make it the go-to platform for teams looking to ship faster while maintaining full visibility across stakeholders. Can't imagine working without it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

Jira Software can feel overwhelming with its steep learning curve and complex configuration options that often require administrator expertise to set up properly. The interface feels cluttered and slow, notifications can be excessive, and smaller teams may find themselves wrestling with unnecessary complexity when simpler tools would suffice. "JIRA: Sprint Deliverables"
What do you like best about Jira?

Many of the advantages of Jira that I can highlight come from my experience as part of an agile team. It enables the entire team to easily track user stories, epics, tasks, and backlogs. Additionally, features like team performance monitoring, project tracking, and sprint reports are especially valuable, as they greatly assist the team in managing business needs. Scrum master's with help of Jira can track each team members and help projects to meet deadlines and requirements Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

While there are significant advantages, there is often a gap where these tools can become a headache for small teams, as they may lead to unnecessary tracking of simple tasks. Additionally, the costs can sometimes be a bit high compared to the value they offer for agile models. Furthermore, there is a learning curve at the beginning, especially when team members are new to the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Task Management in JIRA, but Can Be Overwhelming with Notifications"
What do you like best about Jira?

I like the structured and transparent approach that is provided in JIRA and its task management is really efficient to manage tasks. It allows me to track the progress of my tasks and monitor the deadlines and also allows me to collaborate with the team efficiently. So the customisable workflow is really amazing and it allows me to customise the workflow in the way I want to the dashboard is really helping me how to prioritise my daily task and stay organised so that I can ensure that timely completion of the projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

JIA is a powerful and highly customisable platform, but sometimes it makes me feel complex and overwhelming because while creating new work clause, it asked me lot of information and even when I enter the information sometimes it doesn’t allow me to edit those work close after getting those and sometimes, it also provides too much notifications or updates like tracking task that makes it bit cluttered and for example, when I assign a task to someone, then it gives me 2-3 notifications for the same activity that I have done on the and that makes me frustrated because of getting multiple notifications for the same change is really frustrating. "Powerful Project Management Tool"
What do you like best about Jira?

This is the best tool available in its category on the market. Although the initial learning curve is somewhat steep, once you become familiar with it, you'll find it both helpful and easy to use. It's an excellent choice for team collaboration and project management. I especially appreciate how it can track multiple project metrics and task assignments. It has truly become an essential part of my daily work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

As a first-time user, I found the initial learning curve to be rather steep. The pricing appears to reflect a balance between cost and the features offered. However, one issue I encountered was that the system can become noticeably slower when many users are active at once. Another significant drawback, in my view, is the absence of an automated refresh feature, which complicates things when multiple users are updating the same item simultaneously. Managing JIRA effectively also requires additional resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An important tool for agile project management"
What do you like best about Jira?

Jira is an essential tool I use daily for tracking backlogs in my ongoing projects. The Kanban board in Jira is very useful as it gives an overall view of the current status of the project by displaying no of tasks in backlog ,development and testing state. I like the fact that timely emails are sent whenever there is a change in the ticket like if some user has added comments or updated the description of the ticket . Jira also allows to assign tickets to member of your team and they automatically receive an email notification as soon as it is assigned to them which reduces a lot of effort in manual follow-up with individual team members Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

Jira is extremely useful and I have not noticed any issues with Jira and has all the features I require to manage my project efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust project management tool for agile teams"
What do you like best about Jira?

Jira is a powerful and highly customizable tool for managing agile projects. It provides full visibility of tasks, priorities, and progress across teams.

The board views (Scrum and Kanban) are intuitive and flexible, and the reporting features — like velocity charts and burndown reports — make it easy to track performance over time.

Jira integrates seamlessly with tools such as Confluence, Miro, Slack, and GitHub, which keeps development, documentation, and communication all connected in one ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

The initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially for new users unfamiliar with agile methodologies.

Workflows, permissions, and automation rules offer great flexibility but can quickly become complicated to maintain.

Performance can slow down with large projects or heavy use of plugins, and sometimes UI navigation feels cluttered.

Finally, the learning curve is steeper for non-technical users compared to simpler task management tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Jira: The Amazing tool for Streamlined Project and Issue Management"
What do you like best about Jira?

There are lot of features which I like about Jira are:

1. Easy to track tasks, bugs, and project progress in one place.

2. Customizable workflows that fit perfectly with our agile process.

3. Powerful integration with tools like Confluence, Bitbucket, and Slack.

4. Dashboards and reports give a clear real-time view of project status.

5. Helps improve team collaboration and accountability.

6. Great for sprint planning and managing backlogs effectively.

7. Makes communication between Dev, QA, and management smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

Jira is so amazing, there are a few areas that could be improved in Jira:

1. Takes time to get used to for new users.

2. Sometimes performance slows down with large projects.

3. Too many configuration options can get confusing.

4. Mobile app experience could be smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Keeps our security and engineering work on track, at scale"
What do you like best about Jira?

We use Jira Software Cloud daily across security operations and engineering. The biggest win is how closely we can mirror our process: custom workflows, fields, and components for incident response, detection engineering, and platform hardening.

A few specifics from our setup:

Boards & sprints: We run two-week sprints for detection engineering and a Kanban board for SOC ops.

Integrations: GitHub/GitLab PRs auto-transition issues (e.g., “In Progress” → “Ready for Review” → “Done”). Confluence pages (runbooks, RCAs) are linked to tickets. Slack notifies owners on status changes.

Dashboards & JQL: We’ve built dashboards for leadership—open items by severity, MITRE ATT&CK tactic, SLA risk, and age—using saved filters/JQL.

Traceability: From a Jira story to the code commit and the Confluence runbook, everything is in one place, which makes audits and post-incident reviews much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jira?

Jira’s power comes with complexity. New users can feel overwhelmed by screens, field schemes, and permissions. Large boards can slow down and cross-project reporting often needs premium features or marketplace apps. Automations are great, but they’re brittle if someone tweaks a workflow/field. The mobile experience is fine for quick updates but not great for heavy triage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
