The most obvious upside of Inkscape is the price-point. As fully-functional free product with a wealth of features, it gives users the ability to develop skills in vector-graphic design without requiring any cash outlay. The online manual is extensive, and users can easily access a wealth of tutorials and help in forums and on YouTube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Inkscape is not intuitive, and has a steep learning curve. It's difficult to do anything easily without reading the manual, or watching the extensive YouTube tutorials. Even experienced users will need to return to tutorials and forums again and again to remember how to accomplish tasks that ought to be simple. Options are not always laid out clearly in the UI, and UI elements themselves seem to change in unexpected ways. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
