Labguru works well for organizing experiments, and I particularly like how easy it is to link between experiments and related data. The platform is generally well-structured and intuitive. The support team is responsive to issues, though feature requests are not often implemented. The table functionality is limited—it doesn't allow copying and pasting multiple cells and doesn't handle imports from other sources well. The image annotation tool is very helpful in theory but lacks important features like alignment tools, stable text box positioning and colour options which makes accurate editing challenging. "Great experience and value with the Labguru ELN LIMS"

What do you like best about Labguru ELN LIMS?

Labguru ELN is well-organized into various tabs and subsections, such as the E-Notebook tab being conveniently categorized into project, experiment, protocol, and SOP subsections. In addition, the LIMS part of the software is very easy to use as we were able to map out all the different storage locations in the lab and populate them with inventory items. It also sends us an alert every time an item is below its desired stock level which lets us know we need to order more. Lastly, the customer support has been fast and efficient in any type of problem or question we have had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Labguru ELN LIMS?

When adding additional sections to an experiment, the user is able to add a section in between existing sections but not below the existing sections. The "add section" button does not appear below the last section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Labguru ELN LIMS?

Labguru has been a great fit for our biotech startup. It’s easy to use, simple to implement, and flexible enough to adapt to our workflows, even with large datasets from our previous Microsoft-based systems. We use it daily to manage strain data, experiments, and inventory, and it’s quickly become essential to our lab. The customer support team is responsive and approachable, even with the time zone difference from Australia. The molecular biology support is adequate and reliably lets you perform all core molecular biology functions (e.g. find where primers bind, sequence alignment, plan digestions etc), however it can use some more features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is immensely helpful in capturing all inventory and experimental data, and does a great job of connecting the two.

Finding experiments from long ago is a breeze and the writeup / witnessing process is simple to setup and deploy.

We use the basic Labguru package, and while it's a solid platform, there are some limitations regarding advanced analytical tools and AI assistance. Working with imported tables and performing more in-depth data analysis can feel restricted. Generating detailed research reports and having direct integration with scientific databases for literature, references, or citation suggestions would significantly enhance the experience. A feature that links our experimental data to relevant papers—or even recommends literature based on our projects—would be incredibly valuable. Labguru helps us centralize all our research data, protocols, and inventory in one secure, searchable system. - Never have to worry about losing the notebook

What could be improved:

- Not a fan of the constant 2-factor login

- Would love to see a shortcuts with most recent docs

- Excel function / table can be a bit laggy

- Adding pictures isn't super smooth

What do you like best about Labguru ELN LIMS?

Labguru really helped us keep the our lab's work and our research organized. it was really useful at managing data too. It was easy to track experiments, write protocols, keep track of our samples and connect them to experiments. since all the data was connected and organized, it was very easy for us to share information and make conclusions. Setting it up and creating the infrastructure was very easy because of the user-friendly interface and great customer support. ever since we set everything up we've been using it on a daily basis. One thing that i dislike about Labguru is have to using the authenticator for logging in. it can be a bit of a hassle sometime, especially if im in the lab with gloves and i have to reach for my phone just to log in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Labguru is great for pre-populating experimental protocols"

What do you like best about Labguru ELN LIMS?

What I like the most about Labguru is the ability to create step-wise SOP and pre-populate our experimental procedure on the day of our experiment. ELN recording is most efficient when we use the step-wise format for standard procedures. The customizability of the Labguru protocol is great because it is flexible for different types of assays. What do you dislike about Labguru ELN LIMS?

We've had problems with Labguru running slow on iPads/tablets in the lab. We obtained iPads to use in the lab for elimination of paper notes because we thought this was a convenient and portable alternative to laptops. Labguru ELN LIMS is solving the problem of paper lab notebooks. One huge benefit is being able to search for past experiments and protocols. There is a significant time savings when we are trying to locate older data when it is on Labguru ELN. Another benefit is streamlined communication about experimental protocols between team members. What do you like best about Labguru ELN LIMS?

The most helpful characteristic of Labguru is how user friendly the platform is. All scientists in our lab can easily use Labguru without extensive introduction. We use it daily to keep track of our experiments in projects involving several people. Labguru has become an essential part of our documentation system that allows to produce polished protocols and reports. As we can not bring our computers to the lab we had to get used to spending some time transferring details and notes from the lab at the computer after the experiments.

We are a group of scientists working on the same projects but different experimental aspects. What do you like best about Labguru ELN LIMS?

I like the workflow editor integrated into Labguru. There is a bit of a learning curve to learning how to use workflows, but once understood, it is easy to automate tasks within the ELN.

The organization of the ELN makes sense - I enjoy how collections are structured and how easy it is to filter these collections to find data of interest.

What do you dislike about Labguru ELN LIMS?

Loading times are too long - particularly for some important pages such as datasets. Some features are not used fully due to these long load times.

Tickets I submit for issues/bugs that are require more help than quick customer support take too long to be fulfilled.

There are serious design issues that could be critical risks such as allowing any user to delete a dataset and allowing any admin to delete the entire account. Greater control over user roles and permissions is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
