"When I Do Monitoring It's a Very Helpful Tool to do"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

"The customizable alert thresholds are a game-changer! I can set stricter rules for critical servers and relax the rules for test systems. It's all about finding that perfect balance."

- "Exporting monitoring data to CSV or Excel is super handy. I can dig deeper and get valuable insights without breaking a sweat."

- "The autodiscovery feature is like having a digital detective – it even found devices I had forgotten about on my network!" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

- "Managing large installations can get messy if you don't stay on top of it. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack without proper housekeeping."

- "The default notification sound is a bit bland – I swapped it out for custom sounds that grab my attention."

- "Sometimes, remote probes need to be reinstalled after major OS upgrades. It's a minor hassle, but it's something to keep in mind." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Paessler Made IT Monitoring Easy"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

I like how PRTG shows the cause and effect clearly — for example, when our internet link failed, it also showed which dependent services were impacted.

The built-in QR codes for devices are handy — I printed them on servers, so scanning takes me straight to that device’s dashboard.

I enjoy the flexibility of notifications — I set mine to send me a push alert only if a sensor stays down for more than 5 minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

Some vendor-specific sensors (like for older hardware) don’t always provide consistent results.

I wish the dark mode theme was more polished; I use it a lot in the NOC.

When I edit multiple sensors at once, the UI sometimes feels a little slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best IT Monitoring Tool"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

The best part for me is how PRTG quickly shows exactly which switch port is causing issues. Earlier, I wasted hours tracing cables.

I love the map feature — I built a live floor-plan of my office with traffic lights for each system. Management actually looks at it now instead of ignoring monitoring dashboards.

The “sensor factory” feature allowed me to combine data from multiple sensors into one view — I track our VPN performance this way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

When too many sensors are added at once, the system feels heavy and slows down notifications.

Upgrading versions sometimes resets custom maps, which is frustrating to rebuild.

The licensing count sometimes forces me to remove older sensors that I’d still like to keep for historical purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PRTG: Reliable monitoring with practical insights"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

The NetFlow monitoring gave me a surprise - I discovered a backup job was eating 80% of our bandwidth every night. Without PRTG, I'd never have found it.

The custom notifications with sound files are fun - I made our monitoring PC play a siren noise when storage crosses 90%.

Adding custom PowerShell scripts into sensors has been a game changer for my environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

The reporting templates are very rigid; I had to export to Excel to make them manager-friendly.

Dashboard widgets sometimes take a while to load on mobile.

Setting up SSL for secure web access was more complicated than I expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User friendly Paessler PRTG Monitoring tool"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

PRTG is a very informative and well structed designed dashboard. This makes it easy to monitor, simple, and effective for our IT infrastructure team. It is useful for us to track a wide range of applications, devices, and cloud services, and it also helps us to make proactive decisions and resolve the issue before users may impacts field users. These features make it more insightful into clear performance and availability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

PRTG is a powerful tool; the first learning curve can be a step for a first-time user due to the vast number of features. Additionally, it is a licensing platform model based on these sensors, which makes it a more costly environment. And also, the interface feels a bit slow during a large number of deploys. "Easy To Handle IT Monitoring With PRTG"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

* I appreciate the cluster failover — when my main monitoring server went down for maintenance, the backup kept everything running smoothly.

* The “sensor factory” is underrated; I combined multiple sensor readings into one custom KPI for management.

* I like that I can quickly filter sensors by status, so I only see what’s in warning or error state. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

The update process sometimes requires a manual restart, which interrupts monitoring briefly.

* I wish the color scheme on graphs was more customizable.

* The built-in alerts could look more polished. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"IT Monitoring Tool for easy operation"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

I love that I can pause notifications during maintenance windows — no more unnecessary alarms when we’re patching systems.

The device tree structure makes it really easy to mirror our actual IT infrastructure layout.

The API is great — I connected PRTG data into a custom dashboard we use for daily stand-ups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

Sometimes the auto-discovery picks up devices I don’t care about, and I have to clean them up.

The licensing model can feel restrictive when testing new setups.

The mobile app lags when scrolling through large dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ease of use and maintain"
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

Once I have configured the sensors I want to monitor for a specific device I can always clone it. What is a very user-friendly task before, it is even more easy since I have learned to use the new API. It provides me with the information I need from sensors covering up to 365 days, making daily analysis easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

The new interface is faster, but it still doesn't have all the features of the old one. So I work with both at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

""Powerful, Flexible, and User-Friendly Monitoring""
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

Easy to get started — auto-discovery made setup quick and I had monitoring running within a day.

Alerts are accurate and reliable, I only get notified for real issues instead of endless false alarms.

One tool covers almost everything: servers, switches, applications, and even custom scripts.

Cost-effective, stable, and gives real-time visibility without adding unnecessary complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

Desktop and mobile apps could use improvements in usability.

Missing features like better syslog handling, deeper cloud integration, and easier automation.

Licensing based on sensors can get expensive quickly since one server consumes multiple sensors.

Support and roadmap updates could be more responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
