What do you like best about Paycom?

What do you dislike about Paycom?

The system are overly complicated and not user friendly. Example: departments have to be set up in 2 places, on 2 spearate pages in the profile.

Another example of poor customer service. There was an issue with the system which prevented us from processing payroll before the deadline. Paycom charged us $50 fee to push the payroll through after hours. We escalated to a manager, who told us there was nothing he could do, since payroll was submitted after the designated deadline. Again Paycom took no responsibility that the delay was caused by an issue in their system.

I found customer support to be lacking and almost combative at times. There was no accountability when Paycom made failed. Example: NYMCMNT Tax - This tax wasn't set up correctly in Paycom and they didn't deduct or remit the tax payments to NY. We recevied a debit for over $12,000 without notice for taxes they failed to manage properly.

Their Tax support was non-existent. We were paying for tax support but recevied very little. Example: We submitted a request to have them register for a couple of states for us, NM and VA. They not only failed to set up the state tac accounts for months, they also did not communiate with us that there was an issue with the registrations. It took over 6 months for NM registraton to be completed, which casued us to recevie penalties and interest for non-filing. Paycom did not take responsibility at all

Having learned a tough lesson with NM, we were more proactivley engaged with Paycom while they managed the tax registration for VA. Again we did not receive any communicaitons from Paycom that they ran into an issue. We followed up with them several times regarding the status before we finally recevied a response that there was an issue. The registraton was also completed late causing us to receive penalties and interest fro late filing. Again they took no responsibility at all.

Paycom also has very limited integration options. They were unable to integrate with our 401K or benfits providers. If we wanted integrated system we had to switch to them for benefits and 401K. Which costed a lot more that the providers we were using.

They nickel and dime customers for everything. They charge full payroll processing rate every payroll, including off-cycle payrolls. With many other services, customers pay a monthly service fee regardless of the number of payrolls a cusotmer processed. They do not charge for off-cycle payrolls. If they do charges a processing fee for an off-cycle its at a significantly lower rate.

Due to these any many other issues, we chose to leave. I will not recommend Paycom to anyone! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Paycom?

Paycom does bring value in certain areas. The system makes it relatively simple to pull payroll reports and access data when needed, which allows me to step in and assist our payroll administrator at any time. Reporting capabilities are helpful, even if not perfect, and provide visibility into important payroll statistics. Another major positive has been our current payroll specialist, who is highly responsive and knowledgeable—an important improvement after previously experiencing turnover and unresponsiveness with other specialists. Over time, benefits administration has also stabilized and now runs more smoothly than it did at the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

Despite its positives, Paycom has several significant limitations. The sales process set unrealistic expectations, promising features that ultimately did not exist. Implementation was rushed, with incomplete or incorrect setup that payroll specialists later had to fix. Reporting, while available, is not as comprehensive as needed. Many reports lack key fields, requiring frequent tweaks from our specialist, and development requests rarely progress.

Functionally, Paycom is not a complete payroll and HR solution. We still rely on our old payroll system for certain functions Paycom cannot handle, which forces us to operate in two systems to ensure documentation and compliance. Several HR-related areas are particularly weak: tracking continuing education is cumbersome, document access control is limited, employee performance evaluations are not well supported, and in-house training and CEU tracking are difficult to manage. Perhaps most concerning, Paycom cannot accommodate workers’ compensation—an essential part of HR—leaving a large gap in capability.

In addition, the system’s design is clunky and unintuitive. Navigation requires moving through multiple areas to find tools, and it is often unclear what impact a selection will have without specialist assistance. While some areas have improved over time, the overall experience has been one of ongoing struggles and workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Paycom?

My employees love the platform for its ease of use, and our utilization is near perfect. The automations save my team and my leaders' time, allowing them to focus on the business and not be stuck in the business. Paycom is constantly focused on improving the product and providing additional value for the investment, unlike others who just let their outdated software stagnate. With Paycom, they continuously add new features that easily integrate into our business. We get amazing support. What do you like best about Paycom?

Paycom has made my job easier. The payroll and HR functions are more efficient and streamlined. We were using several platforms to complete open enrollment before Paycom. We can now select benefits in one place, making the process less cumbersome. Customer service is super responsive and always gives me clear, detailed instructions whenever I need help. What do you dislike about Paycom?

While Paycom has so many good attributes, some improvements can still be made. They should work on allowing us to remove time-off requests from terminated employees without approving or denying them. They stay in my Notification Center indefinitely. I would also like a better way to review whether a manager has approved timesheets without opening each sheet. What do you like best about Paycom?

My experience with Paycom has been excellent. The platform itself is very user-friendly, making it easy to manage payroll and HR tasks. In addition, my payroll specialist has been incredibly responsible and supportive. Even if she doesn’t immediately have the answer to my question, she always goes above and beyond to find it and get back to me quickly. What do you dislike about Paycom?

Overall, Paycom is great. However, there is always room for improvement and growth.

One area for improvement would be allowing clients to work more directly with the tax team. At times, responses can take longer since everything goes through a middle person. Having an office in Puerto Rico, where certain processes work differently, makes this even more important. A more streamlined way to collaborate with the tax team would be a great enhancement. What do you like best about Paycom?

The employee owning their data is a great perk as well as having everything we need in one system. This allows employees to only focus on learning one external system. This is a reliable system that allows for daily use, and it is easy to navigate within the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

There are some features that feel cluttered or notifications that will forever be permanent if they are applied to terminated employees, but it does not make sense to adjust once their termination is complete. Ex. "missing ESS access", it would not make sense to enable terminated employees' ESS. A bypass option would be helpful. Also more reporting data for checklists would be helpful. What do you like best about Paycom?

What I like best about Paycom is the ease of use. The platform is set up in a manner that is easy to navigate on your phone or computer. The options are clearly labeled like "Time Management," "Time-Off Request," "Payroll," etc. I'm able to enroll an employee within a few clicks by having several templates already pre-populated. I love that employees can clock in with their phones, computers, or biometric clocks. The Ask Here feature is a great way for employees to communicate with their manager. Once we moved to Paycom, we went completely green. All documents are stored in the employee's Paycom file. They make it easy to convert any document to an editable one, which has completely transformed our onboarding process. Last, I must mention their customer support team. 90% of the time I get a response the same day. The support team always has a great attitude and constantly asking for feedback to improve. What do you dislike about Paycom?

We recently tried using their Expense Management platform, but it didn't work out the way we wanted it to. Our company provides our employees with their own credit cards to use. I could see how it would benefit companies that are reimbursing through payroll. Their system allows employees to submit receipts, get approval, and it automatically goes to payroll. What do you like best about Paycom?

I've enjoyed our recent transition to Paycom so far. We were previously under the Paychex PEO where we had about eight different IDs for all of our locations, which as you can imagine was inconvenient and fraught with issues. Paycom has allowed us to operate under one ID. Our transition process was very helpful--Audrey, my implementation specialist, had countless meetings with me to train me on every aspect and the many features of the employer site and make sure I was set up for success. Integration was involved and certainly time-consuming, but necessary to get me ready to use the site alone. Now that we're completely set up, my current account rep, Ryan, has been extremely responsive when I run into any issues or have questions. A few months into using the platform, I feel confident and use it every single day, most of the time without issue. I love that this platform puts the onus of maintaining timecards and approving checks onto the employees. Extremely comprehensive reporting services as well. Reports are easy to customize. What do you dislike about Paycom?

I don't love the setup of the PTO accruals (difficult to see exactly how they go in and out of someone's account). It's not horrible, but I would visually display it differently if I could. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been an avid Paycom user for several years, from the implementation in two companies, and the usage is geared toward an end-user experience. Employees find the ESS simple and navigable while satisfying all their needs. Reporting Function isn't great. I often have to reach out to our rep to have them run the report I'm looking for or help us find how to create what we need.

What do you like best about Paycom?

We love how simple it is to use—everything from payroll to benefits to performance reviews is in one spot. Employees really like being able to update their own info and check their pay stubs without having to ask HR. It’s saved our team a ton of time and cut down on mistakes.

The platform is super user-friendly, and the support team has been great whenever we’ve had questions. Overall, Paycom has streamlined our processes and made life easier for both HR and employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?
